The kids had a dress-up day at school... to go as the occupation you want when you grow up... Jade chose a vet... this is actually something she talks about.... But, how do you dress a kid up as a vet without going out and buying a doctors coat etc.... so, we improvised.... (plus, we wanted it to stand out as vet - rather than "doctor".....) - - - so, Paw Prints... on white... she already had the white polo shirt from when she went to book week as "The Doctor".... so I bought her a white Men's business shirt and we put t-shirt vinyl on that too.... it was all of $8 from Kmart - so definitely cheaper than a Doctor's coat.... and for $17 Rob sourced Jade a Stethoscope from the local medical supply place in town....
Blake wanted to be a policeman.... and I was going to just do vinyl pressing onto the light blue polo shirt etc... but I found a "Police" costume in the kids section... not QUITE what our local policemen look like... but it did the trick and he was happy with his costume.....
Jade also needed a patient.....
There were two other policemen in Blake's class.... so it seems that everyone had the same idea to head to Kmart and go through the available costumes....
They had a blast.... as much as these costumes take time and effort... it's worth it for them :) and it's kinda fun to do :)
