(early) Happy Birthday Frank :)

Friday 17th June

Frank was heading away before his birthday - so we celebrated early.... :)

Mom and Dad got him a new bike jacket....

We got him a pressure cleaner...

and cake!!! there's always cake.....

Then there were three......

Tuesday 14th June

And then there were three.... Betty is with us for a visit.... :)

and refuses to look at the camera......

Honey is a little happier today... but still very sore.....

Betty stays near me at all times... but is happily settled in....

BB and Honey take up the entire lounge.. so, for dogs that can curl up fairly small... they refuse to! ;)

Betty found a comfy spot under the coffee table.....

It's sad being a toothless greyhound.....

Monday 13th June

Poor Honey.... we'd taken her to the vets a week before this and while in there I asked Rob to get the Vet to check her teeth because her gums looked red to me... and we knew from the time we got her that her teeth weren't great....

She had surgery and they removed all of her teeth except for her 4 canines (well... 3.5 canines... one of them is really small).  Plan now was to feed her mushy foods....  no more deer ribs or pigs ears for this one... :(

Baby Shower for Mrs Gent

Monday 13th June

After school we arranged for Jade's class to head to East Shores to host a baby shower for Jade's teacher..... I believe most of the class turned up.... they had a great afternoon.... they're going to miss her so much....

She also let it slip (though, I'm not sure how many kids noticed) that she was having a girl..... the kids were told that they wouldn't be told until the end of term when she was finishing up about whether it was a boy or a girl....

Upstairs BB......

Saturday 11th June

So, while Rob was away with Blake, and once I started feeling better.... I set to work at making BB cat-safe..... this is a big thing with greyhounds, because they're taught their entire life to chase the small and fluffy items.....

I managed to get BB to ignore all three cats.... not that I was willing to leave him alone with them yet, I was at least happy to have him upstairs when we were watching TV etc.... as long as I could keep an eye on him....

He was very proud of himself.....

Honey wasn't very happy about having to share her spot on the floor....

So, I brought out another doona for BB to lay on....

Honey made sure she was over both doonas at all times... she was the boss and this was her house... and she wasn't going to be overrun by a boy!

BB isn't allowed on beds.... another reason why Honey knew she was top-dog!

She is a bitch on the smoochy side.....

Not really sure this is a safe play to put your head BB..... it's a toxic zone there at times!

Oh... and BB cockroaches!
like a REAL greyhound!

so delicate!

Queensland Titles

Saturday 11th June....

Rob and Blake headed off to help observe the Queensland Titles being hosted by the Central Queensland Trials Club....

We were supposed to head down the night before, but Jade hadn't been feeling flash and she was supposed to have soccer.....then I was up puking for the entire night.... So Jade stayed home with me and Rob and Blake went out to assist.....

They had a great weekend - and everyone loved Blake's observing :) (oh, and Rob's..... but they never comment on adults... always love it when the juniors help out)

Fanfare 2016

Thursday 9th June

With Jade being in the school band, they get to go out and do extra-curricular events such as this Fanfare... this was a "type" of competition between the local primary schools... I took the day off work so that I could go and watch Jade playing...

Just after I got myself settled - I get a phone call from one of the teachers.....  Jade's left her mouthpiece at home..... ARGH!!!!!!

I phoned Rob and asked him to check Jade's room...... he said he'd turned it upside down and he couldn't see the mouthpiece.....

Luckily I got an sms from another teacher saying that they'd brought the school's spare trumpet up for Jade....   I wasn't sure how that would go as Jade likes HER trumpet... (and I get that.... I prefer my flute over someone else's)...  Luckily, they just gave her the mouthpiece and let her use her own trumpet.....

I got home to find THIS.....

Yup, he'd really turned her room upside down..........

Sure enough, no mouthpiece.....

In cleaning Jade's room - I found all of these drink bottles..... and she's forever saying she doesn't have a spare drink bottle!  because they were all hidden under her bed, or under any of the piles of junk on her floor.....

3.5hrs later!

So, given Jade's room is now spotless...  it was only fair to tidy Blakes.....   Took me 5 mins - including vacuuming!

Chalk and Cheese are my kids!

Gympie Trials Comp

Sunday 5th June

Up before 5am... and ready to leave Mom and Dad's place by 5:30 to head to Gympie.....

So excited! :)

(Flashback - August 2009)

A bit of a change.......

Just a little bit muddy down there with all of the rain we've had this weekend.....

Blake's muddy bike packed into the Prado for the trip home...... we ended up leaving Gympie around 2pm and started our 4hr drive home.....  was so grateful that it wasn't a late ending trial... :)
