Jade gets an award at school.....

We got a note from Jade's teacher to say that she was getting another award on assembly... A merit award - we'd been notified by the teacher the day before and organised with work to arrive late so that we could be there....

Jade had no idea she was getting an award, or even that we were there......

The girls Jade is standing next to are both Grade 3....  

and Kholeen next to Jade in this pic - is another Grade 1 kid (she was in Prep with Jade last year)

Note: Every kid held their certificate forward.... except for Jade.... who spent her entire time up the front reading her award.... it was very cute.... not sure if she just didn't believe what they'd read out... or maybe she wasn't paying attention....

Gladstone Roller Derby Invades Rocky for a Social Skate

Due to planning for the bout and everything else that had been going on, we had neglected the Rocky Social Skate scene... so - we organised 6 of us to drive up for the night and meet up with the Cap Coast Derby Dolls (former Rocky Roller Derby girls who split for .... certain reasons... and started their own league).

(he had on his white one - and it just looked strange with everyone else in Black! ehehe)

When we got to the entrance to the rink, we queued up with everyone and then got told that the session was full and that we'd have to come back next week....   We decided to hang around on the off chance that some people left and we could get in....

We didn't leave Rocky til about 11pm.... and after dropping everyone home it was probably 1am before I finally crawled into bed....
