My Bike's back on the road!

Dad has been working really hard.... and my bike is finally back on the road....

There was a lot of discussions in relation to whether it was worth fixing my bike or just buying another Firestorm (as we could have picked up a newer model with less km's for about $4,000 or for $2,000 I could have got one about the same vintage as mine (1998) - but without knowing whether it would handle the same etc, I was nervous about changing.....) this was my first big-bike after getting off the CBR250R and I know how it handles - and it really sounds nice......

Dad bleeding the brakes before bringing it home..... (luckily he checked this as apparently it had no breaks at all - and the liquid that came out was like a really thick soup....)

I got my bike back last Saturday.... it was strange sitting on it again while it was running....   I wasn't feeling 100% as I'd been taken home from work the day before with major dizzy spells.... I felt better, but wasn't 100% alert, and I don't take to the roads in that condition....

Sunday I took it for a ride....  just did a small loop - from town - out through Yarwun, to Calliope and back to town..... I had to wear Jade's helmet because my Arai had to be thrown out a couple of years ago after a family of Ants got into it and destroyed the foam etc.....

Frank then posted on facebook that night that he'd found one of my other helmets.... so now I have a helmet that isn't pink!! (and it's very important to not be pink!)

So, now I'm set to take it to the roads again... when I get a chance :)

Storage Shelves for the kids rooms.......

Sunday 27th July

I bought these about a week before we were able to put them together.... ahh the fun of busy lives....  Anyway, I bought them for the kids because Blake's room needed better storage (as well as needing something that wasn't as old and falling to bits as his current stuff)....

Luckily Rob helped me to put them together - making it so quick and easy.....

The cats came to help too... apparently....

Blake's are in his room....

Complete with Boxes....

The cats figured that the empty packing boxes were a great place to play and hide....

Then we put Jade's together and into her room... and I set them up....

Apparently I didn't set them up right and she rearranged them.... :)

Jade was very happy with her shelves and started sorting her toys straight away.....

Blake's Soccer

Saturday 26th July

Blake had an awesome game....  I believe his team won 10-2 or something... Blake scored 7 of the 10 goals and he was very impressed with himself... through the photos you'll see him signalling how many goals he's up to.... he was so happy.....

Pre-Game warmup

I love how into the warm up the kids get.....

Ben

Blake stretching....

Kick passing....

Julian is great for facial expressions....

And the game is on!

Ben's massive kick...

Goal Number One!

Followed by a fall at the other end of the field....  last year this would have meant that he would have taken himself out of the game for the rest and then whinged all weekend about being sore....

nek-minnit!  back in there....

Number Two!

A little hand-sy....
(but they all are)

And we've got the ball again.....

Everyone had a kick at this one....

Alex's first goal....

Yeah, he was impressed with himself too! :)

The other team got a goal... apparently this was reason enough to sit in the goals and contemplate their strategy (or something!)

Goal Number 2 for Alex....

Goal number three for Blake.....

Liam in control....

Goal number 5
(didn't get a photo of the actual goal - but he came off the field for a rest and gave me the signal)
(I also appear to have missed number 4)

And a bit of splits training!

Number 6!

and Number 7

He was very happy to have another rest after number 7!

Flying kick!

Number 3 for Alex!

Handshakes at the end....

And then it's strip time.... apparently that's very exciting when you're 5 (well... Julian is 6 - Blake is the youngest on the team - and the only Preppie)

and next to Julian - Blake looks even whiter....

Muscles!!!!

Blake, Alex & Julian

Ben & Blake

Funny Faces....

Rob was stuck with carrying all of Jade's stuff...
(or so he claims! I think he feels pretty... oh so pretty.....)

The kids had a brilliant game... and they all have so much fun... it's great to watch....
