Gold Coast Easter Holiday - Day 5... oh... wait!

Tuesday 26th April

Easter Monday.... well, Tuesday.....    

We were definitely glad we got home a day early, we woke to find that Jade was feeling much better....  The prospects of her going to school the following day were looking good......

We arranged with Cam to go out with the skates (and scooters for the kids....)

This is pretty much all the skating Jade did.....  then it was all too hard and she just wanted to be on her scooter like all the other kids....

We worked out that skating on the basketball court sucked.....  whatever it's painted with is horrible... makes grippy wheels - extra grippy.... was like skating on the beach.....   so we relocated to the carpark.... much better choice! :)

The kids were over it - so they played in the back of the cars while Cam and I skated..... (Rob was on camera duty)

I then decided to see what it was like to jump off the parking island thingies (yay for my technical terms!)

It was then time to teach Cam.....

He got the hang of it pretty quickly...   

Now we're talking about getting ramps to REALLY get the hang of jumping ;)  Yay for jumping!

We got home just after 12 - got kids fed and off to bed....  by 3pm Jade was back to her sick-self.... she had a temp again and was definitely on a downward slope....

I figured she may be better by morning... but by morning, both she, Blake and I were out of action....  I had a shocking fever and did not get out from under the covers until about 1pm when my fever was making my skin burn where it was more comfortable to be freezing than feeling like my legs were on fire.... go figure!

Luckily - I do have the best mother on the face of the earth... she came up to the house to look after the kids - and while she was here, she did all of my laundry and cleaned the house...  LOVE MY MOM!!!! (and not just for that reason!)

Since then, the entire household has been sick...  Rob even came home sick from work today.....  worst thing is that we all need to be well by the weekend, cause we have to travel back to Brisbane for Ash and Daryl's wedding....  but I'm willing us better..... here's hoping it works! :)

Gold Coast Easter Holiday - Day 4

Monday 25th April

Jade woke with a shocker of a fever... so we asked her what she wanted to do in relation to the holiday... we were due to drive back the following day... and we figured with how she was - we'd only spend this day in the cabin with her wanting to just go into Zombie mode...  Jade decided that she'd rather head home...  so we loaded up the car and took off.... we left just after 8am - and got home just after 3pm... a much better return trip than our trip down...

As soon as we got home - Rob headed to bed, he now had the fever and cough etc....   The kids were very excited when they got back to their rooms and saw that the Easter Bunny had left surprises on their beds....

So, that was the end of our holiday... a day early.....

Gold Coast Easter Holiday - Day 3

Sunday 24th April

Happy Easter.....!

The Easter Bunny was slack this year - and didn't hide the eggs, he just put them into the kids hunting baskets and left them for them to find when they woke up....

Jade wasn't very happy about this, so then we had to hide the eggs and let her find them, and then hide them, and let her find them.... this happened a few times before it was luckily time to head for breakfast!

Jade was nearly going to pose with every single small egg with her easter bunny...

Before we knew it, Blake had the wrapping off his bunny and was busily eating away...

The place we were staying had a restaurant - so we headed there for breakfast... Jade was a little off...  we realised when we got there for breakfast that she had a bit of a temperature - so we ate and then headed back to the cabin....  Rob headed out to find a chemist that was open so that he could get some nurofen and I put on a movie for the kids to watch....

There was an easter egg hunt planned for 9am... and luckily - by then, Jade was feeling well enough to head off and do the hunt (surprise surprise.....) - it was obvious how sick she was though - she hadn't touched a single egg...

When they arrived (Rob took Jade up) - each kid was given a paperbag that was decorated with an Easter Bunny and Eggs pictures on either side and the kids were given texta's to colour them in....

They then advised that the hunt wouldn't happen until 9:45 - so there was time to play... and this place has a jumping pillow - which is like a jumping castle - but it's just one huge pillow shape.... Jade thought this was fantastic....

All the kids gathered to do the hunt..

The kids gathered all the eggs and then handed them over - and then the eggs were distributed amongst the kids....  Jade only wanted 4... so that she could give some to Blake... (again, she WAS sick!)

In the afternoon, Rob took Jade back to Kidz Korner for plaster painting....  this cost all of $5 and kept Jade busy for a good couple of hours....  you sign the kids in, so you can "leave" them there, but Rob stayed with Jade (apart from a quick run back to the cabin for something he'd forgotten)

Jade painted a unicorn, a snake and a little basket of easter eggs...  she had a ball...

After their plaster fun, Rob brought Jade back to the room... she wanted to head back to the pool - so Rob took her back to the pool where they were waiting for Blake and I to come once he'd woken up....  he didn't wake until nearly 5pm - and then didn't want to go and swim - he wanted to just play in the cabin... so we stayed for a bit, then I convinced him that we should head to the pool to at least let Rob and Jade know that we weren't going to be swimming... so we did that, then headed back....

Jade was still unwell... but trying to power through....   she didn't want to head up to the restaurant for dinner that night - so Rob headed out and brought dinner back so that we could have a quiet evening at the cabin....  everyone was in bed fairly early on this night....  

Gold Coast Easter Holiday - Day 2 - Tooth, Pool & Visitors....

Saturday 23rd April

After getting back from Seaworld, we got lunch into the kids and sent them both for a sleep... Jade didn't want to sleep... with all the noise the continual coming out of our room was making - Blake didn't end up having a big sleep either....

So, we got both kids dressed in their togs and got ready to head to the pool....

Moments before we were leaving for the pool - Jade and Rob were mucking around and Jade bit him on the shoulder.... well - that's what she said she was doing... Rob apparently didn't notice a bite - so it couldn't have been hard - but was hard enough to knock the tooth out.... THANKFULLY!  It had clearly been bugging Jade for the 3 days prior and she was getting very upset whenever she'd try to eat etc - as the tooth would get knocked and would bleed and hurt....  she was also very excited to point out that the Toothfairy would have to come as well as the Easter Bunny in the same night....

Off to the Pool

It took a bit of convincing - but once Jade started going down the water slide - it was hard to convince her to do anything else in the pool...

It seemed that no amount of heating was going to convince Blake that it was warm enough to swim....

That was, until he discovered the Water Slide too!!!

He chickened out a few times after climbing to the top of the water slide...  he'd turn around and run down again....

and just incase you didn't notice that she'd lost the tooth - she's quite willing to show it in her poses!

Showers are a great way to defrost!

After Ash & Daryl finished at Seaworld they headed to the Park where we're staying to have dinner with us...  As soon as they arrived Ollie & Chloe went to play with Jade & Blake in the bunk room... the kids had a great time while the adults got to sit and chat....    was a great evening!

Hiding under the bunks was apparently the place to be....  after we'd had dinner the kids went back in there - and after a while Chloe came out and said "Jade and Ollie are under the bunk and THEY'RE KISSING!!!" - we all had a giggle about that...  Ollie came out with the biggest grin on his face and Daryl asked if he was ok - and he just giggled and went "YEAH!"   ehehe - kids can be cute...  but geeez....  Jade's gonna be an interesting teenager if she's already hiding under beds to kiss boys that she's only just met!
