Amy's Art Party......

Saturday 19th June started with Amy's Art Party..... This was definitely one of the best and most inventive parties that I've ever been to, the kids absolutely LOVED it.... we were warned to bring the kids in in their old clothes... luckily I knew more about what it was about and sent Jade in Black....

Jodi set up the shed with tarps and paint made from food colouring - the kids were given hands and feet to paint for the "pin the hands and feet on Amy" game....

Ava

Amy (Birthday Girl)

Jodi
(she managed to take about 4 photos - so she was happy to get copies of mine)

Jade at the craft table....

The girls then discovered the food coloured water guns.... they were a HIT....

what's even more fun than chasing people around with water guns? when you get to spray your own mother!

Jodi got her own back by dipping her hands in the "paint" and putting it all over the girls faces....

Just a little grotty - and this was only the start of the day.....

Painting the balloons was much more interesting for Jade....

I think she got hit in the face with coloured water... oops!

Evie got sprayed too... she wanted to see what it looked like and was concentrating on having her pic taken...

Amy, Sienna, Ava & Mariah...

Bubbles, something so simple is always amusing for kids... of all ages.... (yes - we were popping them too!)

on the food table was Milk Arrowroot (I think that's the one) biscuits and Nutella and then different sprinkles etc for the kids to paint up their own food....

Bubbles

Pin the hands and feet on Amy....

There is "ONE" foot on the stomach - and - it was Jade's..... not sure if she just wasn't trying or whether she was really confused....

Craft Table...

Mick
(father of the birthday girl...)

Painting Paper was "so last hour" that it was then time to paint the tarps and then run and slide!

this proved to be the MOST fun....

Why paint the tarps when you can paint your feet?

after a bit of a spill by one kid who ended up banging his head - paper was put down on the floors which then became "Paint your feet and make footprints"

Amy continued to grot it up....

Evie dipped her hands.... then went in search of something "different" to paint...

uh-oh - a clean pot plant....

the paint has landed!

PiƱata...

Lollies!

Sienna

Oh, it's those noisy annoying birthday blowers..... Yay!

Damnit! they all have them!

Innocent looks can be deceiving.....

a Character in the making....

I have it on good authority that Ava's soccer whistle has gone missing..... she's most upset... mwahahaha...

Edible Bracelets.....

The Cake....

Happy Birthday singing....

Ready....

Set....

Blow!

Cutting of the cake....

Eating of the cake...
(6 cheeky monkeys... sitting in a row)

If you look closely, Jade's pants have heart shaped holes in them.... when we lifted up the legs later in the day - we found heart shaped food colouring designs on her legs... she was very excited about that.... :)

This party went an hour over time and even then it was hard dragging the kids away...... Top marks on the party idea Jodi!

The Gruffalo - Tuesday 15th June.....

For those who haven't heard of the Gruffalo, it's a story about a little mouse who goes for a walk through the "deep dark wood" in search of nuts.... and runs into all kinds of forest creatures who want to eat it.... and it makes up this creature that it's meeting to scare off each of the animals so that they'll leave it alone....

We first heard about it when they were advertising it on ABC.... we recorded it and Jade has watched it to bits since........

On Tuesday - they had the stage production come to Gladstone, so I took Jade to see it... it's played out by three people on the stage.... it was great... Jade was laughing the whole way through and was really getting in on the audience participation....

This is the "official trailer" of the stage show - but this isn't the Australian version... fairly similar though....

At one point in the show, I couldn't sink deeper in my seat if I'd tried.... The gruffalo had been hit in his "nether" region and Jade yells out (and I do mean yells!) "It hit him in the willy!!!!" and of course all of the primary school kids were laughing.... my little comedian.....

We got Jade the story book... so she read it to Blake before his bed time.... she pretty much knows it word for word because of the movie - and it's rhymes - so she could work out what was next....

Blerk to a sick Puggle.......

So, after our great ride yesterday, Rob and I got the kids to bed (they'd had a big and exciting day with Melissa) - and went down fairly easily.....

Rob and I sat down to watch "Old Dogs" - and I'd dozed off by 7:30pm.... sheer exhaustion - I did enjoy the movie (and finished watching the rest of it tonight)...

I woke to Blake coughing... I figured it must have been 5am already - I looked at the clock... 10pm... then all of a sudden you realise the coughing is more like vomiting......

that was our first time up with Blake.... he ended up going through 3 sets of pj's and sheets..... and was finally out for the last time at about 2am.... he was then up at 5am but didn't want a bottle, hadn't been sick - just wanted some water and then he snuggled up to me on our bed... so I let him lay there for a while before I prompted with the "night night Blake" - got my "night night" response - so I knew it was safe to return him to the cot....

He slept til 7am and then was quiet and a bit clingy... but other than that - showed no signs of still being sick...

Jade wanted to watch ABC Kids - so I put that on for her in the lounge and put Fimbles on in our room for Blake to watch as I needed to get some stuff done on the computer and he wasn't letting me out of his sight....

You can see in this pic that his right eye is red around the top and bottom... he'd had a bit of gunk in his eyes which we figured may have just been from whatever bug made him sick....

Blowing me kisses! Isn't he just the cutest??

Jade mooching watching ABC Kids.... (who needs Paytv when free-to-air has it all!?!!)

Got the smile sorted a bit better this morning.....

The kids went and played with Caprice a bit more today, and by tonight - both of Blake's eyes are red and gunky... so we're thinking that it may be more of an allergic reaction... I hope not, I couldn't think of anything worse than being allergic to dogs...... especially as they both loved playing with her so much over the last couple of days.......
