Birthday Applepie-cake!

Jade has never been a fan of cake.... for a few years we managed to get her to eat white chocolate cakes etc, but she's never really liked them... this year, we went for a different option... Jade loves Apple Pies.... so, we made an Apple Pie-Cake....  (note: the muffin on top is for Blake - who doesn't like Apple Pies......we try to cater for everyone! :) )

Birthday in the Spa.....

Thursday 1st October

The day was spent in the spa... (how unusual.. hehe... not!)

It was good spending the time with the kids.... especially as I wasn't having to work... :)

diving for coins.... it's amazing how long you can keep them entertained when they're having to search for specific things....  with Blake, it's a case of look for XX coin and XXX coin... with Jade - she's either got to work out how much money she needs for XX item.. or... $X.XX amount in a certain amount of coins....  it's fun to watch her calculating these things under water...

and it helps if you have a pile of coins.....

Up nice and early to open presents.....  School Holidays is always great for birthdays :)

(I also got the day off work so that I could spend it at home with them too)

The bonus of having a nearly 10yr old is that you can get them to help with the birthday party preparations......

We gave Jade one of her presents early... (because we were putting these tiny Pokemon figures into the party favours - we thought we should give her her set so that she wasn't trying to steal them... (also because there was no real surprise if she'd already played with them!))

Property weekend - 19-20 September

Down to the property for another weekend.... there was a trials comp on the same weekend down at Lowmead but I wasn't up for competing and neither was Drew... we haven't ridden many trials this year and so a weekend riding at our own pace and clearing a bit more of the property was more tempting.....

First.... Installation of the Letterbox!

Bye bye old-blue.....  this was a good letterbox to point out where the property was.... but... the Minion stands out just a little more!

And, as always.... instead of just riding... Drew and I cleared a path to a new area.... and then cleared the creek to ride in.....  well worth it though! :)
