How to make a Greyhound super sad!!

Saturday 15th August

We honestly thought Honey would enjoy a bath... but apparently it's a very traumatic experience... she was very unhappy... she smelt better afterwards! :)

Happy Birthday Mom!

Friday 14th August

Mom and Dad came to town for Mom's birthday (and because there was an MQ training course on, but lets just say that it was for her birthday!)

The kids love having visitors....  (well, we all do.... ) I have no idea why there was a blanket in the photo too... but I'm guessing it was cold (yup - I can't remember everything - it's taken a while to get back to blogging)

And then there was cake!  Caramel Mudcake of course!

Batter Up!

Wednesday 12th August

The kids had come home with paperwork to join in the local "batter up" program... it's a 3 week program to let the kids try out softball without having to commit to a complete season ....  The kids still had swimming lessons first, so we had to do that, then rush off from the end of swimming lessons to get down to softball... and it did make for a long evening....

They were each given a glove, a ball and a backpack.....

Next thing we know... Blake's decided to put Jade's name on her ball... it was so sweet and he had all of the right intentions... but Jade didn't see it that way, she was so upset that he'd drawn on her ball....

It was a really good try at writing neatly on her ball (even though the J was backwards)

I fixed the ball and put Blake's name on it...

and coloured over where he'd drawn her name.....  

Jade then claimed ownership of Blake's ball and put her name on it.....

At the end of it all everyone was happy.....

After doing the program, I wasn't able to convince the kids to sign up for Softball... I had hoped that the kids had found their summer sport.... we'll keep trying different sports until we find something....

Sleepover time.....

Saturday 8th August

The kids had friends come to sleep the night.....  

When jumping out, and yes... I mean "JUMPING" out of the bath - Leo slipped and smacked his head on the basin.....   recovery was quick though... (thank goodness!!!)

  

Even cleaned the teeth.....  (at least I managed that without anyone knocking out a tooth or poking out an eye!)

Final check before they went to bed and the lump was nearly down....

Toast for breakfast.....  always scary when you leave the kids in control of the spreads.... SO MUCH goes onto the toast....

Minions become Minions for Soccer :)

Saturday 8th August

Jade's last soccer game for the season (we were away for the week after this, and the final week her team had a bye.... so this was it for her for u10's)

It was also the first year that the team had been the Minions - they'd previously been the Malteasers... it was also the final week for the twins Khan and Wes... so it was a pretty big game... so, the coach organised someone to come and facepaint all of the kids to be actual minions for the game...  he also brought along hair goop to stick their hair up (and lucky me, I got the job of trying to make spikes in their hair... and some of these kids had fairly long hair).

They turned the coach Chris into Gru.... 

And the minions are ready to play....

After the game, because it was Jade's last game - she had to give back her shirt, luckily I had my jacket with me.. so Jade put that on to cover up :) (just a little bit too big....)
