Christmas Eve 2015

Wednesday 23rd December

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house.... GINGERBREAD TIME!

I think we've pretty much done all of the designs now from Ninja Bread Men - right through to the Gingerbread tree..... 

The funniest thing is that they don't actually like THIS gingerbread... so it's all about building and then trying a piece or two just to test to see whether they've made an edible Ginger Bread... then leaving it in the fridge until someone decides it's time to throw it out.... (or someone else decides to try to eat it.... it's REALLY not that great.....) 

I got chair covers this year.... very festive! ;)

Betty took over Honey's bed....  doesn't Honey look sad?!?! ;)

  

One last hug with Greg before he headed to Sydney to visit his mother and her family for Christmas.....

Yup... classy kids!

Betty would like to believe that she's a worthy Christmas Present :)

All presents and Santa stockings filled and ready for tomorrow!

Adopt a Grandparent....

Tuesday 22nd December

It was brought to my attention that there was a local Facebook group that organised Grandparents for adoption for Christmas.... basically these are people in the local nursing home that don't get many visitors (not that they don't get any - but it's always nice to get extra attention, especially around Christmas....)

We adopted a Grandpa and a Gran - and we went to visit them in the home.... as I wasn't sure on the rules, I did not take any photos with them... the Grandpa was very quiet and did not really respond - so we gave him his present and moved on to visit our Gran - she was lovely - very chatty... and we stayed with her for about half an hour.. She loved having the kids visiting her and told us about her grandchildren and great grandchildren.....

The kids are wanting to do this again in 2016 - and I see no reason not to.....

Property Weekend before Christmas.....

Saturday 20th December to Sunday 21st December

One last property visit before Christmas..... we decided to get small inflatable pool for the kids to play in at the block.... it can get really hot there - and due to all of the trees, there's not always a huge breeze... 

This was our "teaser" pic for facebook... we said that we'd put a pool in at the block - and given the larger hose that we had connected to the water tank, it did look like a large pool being filled professionally... heehhee..

Honey was first in... apparently she didn't like her dog pool and wanted in on the kids one... unfortunately, we believe she caused a leak.....  but she was very gentle jumping in and out....

Nope... this just won't do!

Then it was time to go off and play up the creek... and to clear a bit more of it...

Drew found a new bank to play on....

Then it was time to head back and play on the kids track with them.....
