Waterslide - Day 2 - with Jemma & Amy

Wednesday 31st December

Jemma and Amy came over for the day to play on the Waterslide with Jade & Blake....

I think throughout the entire day, they may have gone inside for an hour... maybe.... and that would be REALLY pushing it... I don't think they even stopped long for a lunch break....

Then Jemma decided it would be more fun with soap.......
(Which, admittedly, it was!)

They tried making Bubble Angles... but the water was moving around too much that the bubbles kept going straight back into place....

Later that afternoon, after Jemma and Amy had gone home, Jade was picked up by some friends and she was off to a New Years Eve party.... Blake decided that he wanted to spend some time in the spa on his own without a bunch of girls bossing him around... :)

The spa was full of bubbles as the kids were going from the slide to the spa and back all day......

We had a very early new years.... I think we were asleep by about 9pm.....
(yup - we're THAT pathetic these days!)

Jade and her friends were up til about 1am and then finally got to sleep and started their next day by 6am... so, by the time I picked her up - she was ready for bed again.....

The Waterslide has arrived!

Tuesday 30th December

It arrived!!!!!  We had looked at going away over the school holidays as I was on holidays as well... unfortunately, over the Christmas break the prices are 10x more ridiculous than usual... and it was just too hot to even consider going to the property....

So, rather than spending $3,000 on accommodation as well as travel costs, food, entertainment.... we decided to spend $700 on an inflatable waterslide for the kids.... BEST DECISION EVER!

The kids spent most of the holidays outside playing and had a bunch of friends come over to play too.... 

Here's day 1 of it....

It takes up a large chunk of our lawn....

Surprisingly when inflated - the step-holes to climb up are quite firm....

Given that we'd only just put it up at this point, there wasn't much water to land in at the bottom... but that didn't take too long to change :)

A bit of a shift around.......

Monday 29th December

I've finally managed to clean out the old gym area.... and while I was down in Bundy -I managed to pick up a carpet at a reasonable price from Bunnings that I used to set up the lounge in the gym area... it fits nicely and opens up the rest of the area downstairs.....  

The kids are happy with their space downstairs.... :)

Rain in December keeps things pleasant....

Monday 29th December

Luckily for us, the rain over summer (as there always is) keeps things pleasant.... (that is, until it stops raining and then we've got humid days...)  

The kids spent a good deal of their day in the spa.....

  

While they were busy playing, Rob and I put together the Basketball hoop.....

Blake had a lot of fun... but I imagine he's going to be a "team" kinda guy... if he had a team playing with him - he'd be ok - but quickly gets bored on his own.....
