Garfield Costume in the making......

Thursday 18th August

On the way to soccer training, we stopped by the shops to get Blake some orange clothing to make his garfield costume......

On top of this pair of shorts you can see a slightly lighter orange piece of material.... this is a headband I bought for Jade to wear when playing soccer.... she didn't want to wear it to soccer.... so... we took 2 of these and made the Garfield tail.... one for the tail - and one for the waistband to hold it in place.....

Ta-daaaah!

and then to put the Vinyl cutter to use... and make some Garfield stripes for his shirt and shorts.....

Bundy Visit

Sunday 14th August

As soon as I got back from Melbourne, I loaded the kids into the car and we headed to Bundaberg... 8pm isn't a great time to do a 2.5hr drive..... but... it was better than having to be up and leaving the house at 5am...

It also meant that we were able to say Happy Birthday to Mom on her actual birthday :)

Someone didn't take their own jumper.... so, she stole my new Light City Derby hoodie.....

The next morning, I was able to steal it back.... I think it suits me better :)

UDRP 2016

Friday 11th August

Zerky and I are off to Melbourne for the United Roller Derby Playoffs..... This was another tournament that I'd hoped I'd be back for, but I'm still not willing to put my back on the line, this has been my longest injury ever - and I'm going to be 100% before I return or I may never fully recover... and your back is the last thing you want problems with in the future....

First Flight - Gladstone to Brisbane.....

Last Flight - Brisbane to Melbourne.... lets do this!!!!

We've arrived in Melbourne... and it's bloody cold!!!!! (and wet)

We've been picked up by the team bus in Melbourne... and the others are starting to arrive....

Saturday 12th August

We headed down to the venue and started running into our other derby friends......

When trying to make a book-week costume for your child - and you see someone at the tournament spraying hats.... you request a garfield hat and you never imagine that it will turn out SO WELL!! I was so happy with this..... so ... so happy!

We're both the same number.... lucky neither of us could bout this weekend - or there could have been a problem ;)

Also managed to pick Jade up a pair of glasses to complete her book-week costume......

Sunday 13th August

We're up.... my final morning in Melbourne.... I had to head home early so that I could get the kids to Bundy Sunday night for Jade's Dr appointment.....

We lost Puma between the beds!

when you salt your corn flakes, instead of sugaring them...... Shrek knows how to fix it.....

So, when DBlock made my team hoodie... she put Zerky's number on it.....
