An afternoon at East Shores.....

Sunday 12th July

After we stopped work on Sunday - we took the kids to East Shores with their scooters and to have a play......

They then decided that the water looked like fun... it wasn't a terribly hot day - but... kids are nuts... so, we let them go....

Jade looked fairly cold....

but convinced me that she was ok and could keep playing.....

Blake went to heat up in the sun for a bit......

We had a bit of an accident though, Jade had rushed back on her scooter to where Blake's hat was to get it for him and came off going around a corner because she was dripping wet and slipped on the scooter.....

Oh yeah, she looks SO SORE!

Just kidding...

We bandaged her up in an "overkill" kinda fashion - but there's nothing worse than trying to sleep with a badly grazed elbow and have it stick to everything during the night.... by morning the dressing was off and she was fine for school... :)

Up comes the chipboard......

Sunday 12th July

Work has started... chipboard is up!

These spacers were placed under the chipboard to make the floor level....  not so easy to remove as they're glued into place.....  To the Hardware store in the morning to get tools to remove them!

Look at that nice polished floor - ruined the the extension that was done in chipboard....

Unfortunately, we're not going to rectify this and we're putting carpet back down... so no need to care about the look of the floor we're putting in either!

The old door to the walk in wardrobe is gone now too.....

As is the door frame.....

Ooooh.... wall paper!! EWWW!!!

Sliding door bits are gone too..... and we're nearly ready to say good bye to the adjoining doorway!
(it was handy while the kids were babies and I was getting up in the night to feed them.... but I'm happy to not have this doorway here now that the kids are older!

That'll do for today!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Saturday 11th July

Mom and Dad came up to Gladstone after opening his presents down in Bundaberg and brought the kids home with them ready to go back to school on Monday.

Drew brought Dad a cake down from Rocky.....  Complete with an edible trials section....  the bike is also bogged! ;)

We had a great evening... with an entertaining game of "cards against humanity" - definitely not a kid-friendly game....

Up come the carpets!

Monday 6th July

Jade's door is gone!

I had to cut the carpet to remove the carpet at this point (the rest of the carpet will come up when we're ready to have the carpets replaced.....)

Carpet completely gone.....

Jade's room has water damage too - which we're guessing has come from the lounge window and through her wall.....  (oh the joys of an old house!)

Yup.... completely destroyed chipboard.....

All carpet - underlay and that weird carpet nail board stuff has been removed......

Jag spent the day chilling out on Blake's bed..... I think he was glad that the nice soft bedding had returned after our week away!

Our room was a little more painful to remove the carpet nailboard stuff and all nails in the floor.... but, I got there!

Next goal.... empty the guest room enough to be able to move Rob's work station into there for while everyone is working above....  that way, Rob's not disturbed during the day with all of the hammering and thumping....

Ta-daaaah!  It's totally like a professional office!

Blockspot Holiday 2015 - Day 10

Sunday 5th July

At the end of our holiday..... it was time to get the kids to wash their bikes so that we can take them home to be serviced....

The kids then headed to Bundy with Mom and Dad to spend the second week of their holidays... and Rob and I headed home to do a mountain of washing and move Rob's office and start ripping up upstairs flooring (in preparation for Mom and Dad coming up to help replace the chipboard with new flooring as the next step in renovations at home....).

February - Slumber Party Roller Disco

Friday 10th February PJ Party Time! Jade had arranged with her friend that they'd go in onesies to the disco.....  so tha...
