Jade Quote of the Day....

Don't get me wrong - I'm a big fan of motorcycles and people who can control them...

I like to see the rider's do wheelies at Trials when just playing around in the field... I like watching the stunt bikes at Phillip Island do their many various tricks...

I am NOT a fan of idiots new to riding who decide the best way to learn to ride is to do wheelies in residential streets (or even on the highway)...

We're on a fairly straight road... also - a fairly busy road....

This evening, while the kids were sitting down eating dinner, this young guy goes past on his KTM - on the back wheel probably doing 80km/hr in a 50 zone....

Jade: Well, someone got his license!

Oh, I just had to call Rob and tell him... was too funny to waste....

Trial - Bob's Creek..... 28th March 2010

Unfortunately, Rob wasn't able to make it to the Trial today... the local bike shop had an issue with their server - so Rob had to stay back and make sure they were right to trade tomorrow.... (the joys of clients who think you aren't entitled to some family time!)

Anyway, kids were loaded and we were off at 7am....

hanging out on the trailer... waiting for someone to start up a bike for them to get on.....

"Bike goes, here...... if I just sit around long enough - surely a bike will turn up and I can ride!!!"

Still waiting.....

"If I put my helmet on, you think they'll take the hint??"

They play so nicely now...... now that she doesn't think that he's trying to attack her... and now that she doesn't push him around too much... :)

The kids did get out on the bikes before the day started.... but it was just a quick ride... and then Dad, Frank and I rode together... (for the first couple of laps - then Frank went to ride with Alex)...

After we'd finished riding - we planned on putting the kids on the bikes and going for a ride... but they both wanted to ride with Grandpa..... so I was ditched.. and they both went at once.....

Dad then came back and Jade wanted to ride some sections with Grandpa... so Blake wasn't impressed about being kicked off the bike... he got over it.... Dad and Jade took off, next thing we know - one of the other riders came to say that Dad and Jade had come off in the creek.... he said they were both ok... so we just went back about our business...

Then we saw Dad and Jade come walking up the track... Jade didn't look happy... and when they got closer - we could see that she was drenched - from top to toe.... luckily I had a change of clothes for her...

She had two small cuts on the palm of her hand - she didn't want a normal bandaid for them - so she was happy to wait til we got home (80km drive away) to get some barbie bandaids... CLEARLY they were fatal wounds!

I ended up coming 3rd in C Grade..... so yay me!

When we left - Blake was asleep before we'd even got out the gates... Jade was asleep about 10mins later.... so it was a very quiet trip home....

When I got home both kids woke...but Blake was still very sleepy.. so I took him upstairs (Rob kept Jade downstairs) - I gave him a bottle and put him in the cot... but he didn't sleep.. he chatted in there for about an hour before Rob came and got him and took him back downstairs with Jade... in an attempt to let me get some much needed sleep....

But, it didn't happen.... had to get some tidying done - etc.....

Jade - 4 - turning 30......

Blake and Jade in the bath......

Blake - Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum.....
Jade - Blake, now listen, I am NOT your mother, I am your sister....
Blake - Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum......
Jade - BLAKE!!!! I am your SISTER!

*giggle*

Paving the Washing Line Area.....

With all the fun of our anniversary being over and done with - it was time to get back to business and get some things sorted.....

Yesterday one of our friends came over and levelled out the yard - from all the flood prevention work from early February... so now we have a flat yard - but no grass - again... (that wont take long to fix up)....

We decided it was time to get the washing line paved (as the pavers had turned up the day before we had to dig out all of the front yard)

I went to Bunnings first thing in the morning to grab a few tools (Rakes - Shovel - etc) - and then it was time to start work... by the time I got back from Bunnings, Mom and Dad had already turned up and pruned all of the greenery coming from the neighbours unkept bushes.... (but it provides a bit of privacy - so who am I to complain)

Starting to Level the ground....

Jade got in to help.... she loves helping....

Blake came to help...
(actually, more like he came to see if there was any way he could possibly get any dirtier!)

Grubby Puggle...

In the Wheelbarrow to tell Uncle Frank where to go.....
(and not in a rude way!)

Bringing a load of crusher dust back to the area....

Starting to lay the pavers down to work out how we'd make them fit....

Tennis Balls make great spacers.... although - Blake did want them back!

Jade obviously thought the men couldn't bring the crusher dust on their own and came along for the ride...

Pavers lined up - now it's time to put down more crusher dust to go between the pavers....

and.... DONE!

Blake in the Wheelbarrow....

I'm so glad this is finally done.. I no longer have to worry about dropping my washing and having it be covered in mud.... also don't have to worry about having to put shoes on and hurting my feet on the various stones.... so yay!!!!

Btw. have I mentioned that my family are THE BEST? We started working at 9:30am - and finished by 2pm :) (with a break for lunch)

Happy Anniversary to Us.... 5yrs!

5yrs!

Time flies.... but we've done so much in the past five years - that we are able to believe that it's been that long....

My "Giant Cupcake" mould turned up in the mail yesterday, so it was a last minute decision to make a "cake".... Jade didn't mind, she was very excited to see a Giant Cupcake....

Unfortuntely, having never made one before - we only made up enough mixture for one normal cake - and it obviously wasn't enough... but it was still good - and was still good enough for us to decide how to tackle the cake making process in the future..... This is only about half the size that the mould is capable of making.... so that's good....

The wrong approach to cutting your "cup" cake

Mom and Dad came and looked after the kids - and Rob and I went out for dinner and then to the movies... it was so great to get out... Unfortunately the choice of movie wasn't the best, we went to see Bounty Hunter and it was SOOOOOOO slow to take off... and the big comfy chairs in Gold Room were way too tempting that I dozed a bit at the start.. but managed to watch the rest of the movie... it wasn't TOO bad - but I wouldn't be wasting money at cinemas for it....

Blake's new interest......

((Video))

Rob showed Blake how to do this tonight - and then how to turn it over and start pushing the pegs through again....

Blake did not leave this until bed time and even then it was a bit of a drama convincing him to put it down....

An afternoon with kids and cupcakes.....

After a busy morning of motorbikes, we headed home and Jaime dropped Xander around... Melissa was bringing over the Kenzler kids to play and decorate cupcakes, and the eldest Kenzler is the same age as Xander.... Ava is a few months younger than Jade and Jaykob is a few months older than Blake... so it was a great combination.....

I'm sure these two are going to find one day that their DS' are part of their bodies.... they'll merge!

Cupcakes cooking.....

and done....

Jaykob

Blake opted for the safer trampoline
(safe from the jumping of Jade and Ava)

Doesn't she just look THRILLED???

Then it was time for cupcake icing!

Ava's first colour for her cupcake....

and then some pink....

Xander made a face with his....

Blake climbed up onto Melissa to see what was happening....

mini-cupcakes decorate so much quicker!

Ava's cupcake now with Black icing too!

Jaykob got in on the action too.....

Xander ate his cupcakes - and his tongue turned blue.....

Oh, the icing wasn't enough on it's own... here's some decorations.... which were then PUSHED into the icing so that they couldn't escape I guess....

The concentration.....

Blake and I decorated a cupcake with blue icing and decorations.... Blake ate the decorations and then started to lick off the icing.... messy messy Puggle!

Jaykob didn't bother eating off his cupcake - he realised it was much quicker to eat the decorations straight out of the bowls!

The boys spent their time playing DS.....

Logan

and just when you thought that the cupcakes were done - they got iced some more!

cleaned up and ready for play.....

Blake and Jaykob played so nicely together....

and the boys kept DS'ing...

Once we'd finished and cleared off the table - we decided it was time to call Rob up to come and have a look at the cupcake designs...... and he even ate Ava's cupcake......

Suprisingly - he's decided to take the uniced cupcakes with him to bundy - not the iced ones..... I think Ava broke him!
