Weekend Away... Trials comp....

There was a trials comp up in Rocky this weekend and we decided to head up and spend Saturday night in Rocky... we called around a few hotels - but nothing really caught our attention...  then we found this caravan park...

I'm so glad we decided to stay there, it's so much nicer going away with the kids and being in a self-contained cabin rather than in a stuffy hotel room....

HUGE Lounge!  and a complete Austar lot of channels... unlike most hotels that have 1-2 channels and generally sports....  (mind you - we spent the morning watching the election results - which we could have had on non-paytv tv)

This kitchen was so nice!  Pity we weren't staying longer - and didn't need it....

Ahhh - Queen bed... and the mattress was just fantastic...
(not something you generally say after staying away from home!)

Two single Beds... Made up with Doona's... which was fantastic for Jade who doesn't like sheets or blankets...

a full size bathroom - there was no squishing in this thing....

After we got settled in the cabin we packed the kids back into the car and headed out to the trials site to spend some time on the bikes and then have dinner with Mom, Dad and Frank (and the other trials people that were there)...

It was my first time back on the bike in such a long time...  even took a little convincing to get Jade on the bike - but as per usual - when it was time to get off the bike she didn't want to and would have let just about anyone take her for a ride just so that she could stay on....

Rob all sweaty from riding....

Mom caught with her dinner....

Jade hanging out by the BBQ...

We were eventually driven away by the mosquitos and also two tired little ones - so we headed back to the cabin....  it was a late night for both kids - but they slept really well... (well - Blake slept as well as he is capable of sleeping.... was still a pretty good night)...

We got breakfast on the way out to the trials comp...

Once we got there, Blake decided that Daddy's pepsi bottle is great for chewing on...  he's into chewing on everything at the moment... whether it's teething or just wanting to chew - who knows!

Jade watching the action from the back of the van

Sam & Jade playing in the van...

Kayleen (I managed to talk her and her father to come out and give it a go - they ride enduro)

Pete (Kayleen's Dad)

Rob ready for a day on the bike...

Sam & Angela

John & Ken

Dad

Jade's wearing Grandpa's hat...
(although - I think he'd be quite happy if she became a Yamaha fan - given I'm all about Honda)

Was a reasonably good weekend, Blake didn't get enough sleep - so he was slightly feral today... but here's hoping he starts learning to sleep with the noisy bikes around as he'll be subjected to them at least once a month for probably the rest of his life! :)
