We got up yesterday morning at 6am local time - so that we could be ready and out to the airport by 8am... Rob picked on me a bit for being paranoid about the time - but I said that I would have rather spent the 2hrs at the airport wasting time - than be running around at the airport trying to ge booked in etc.....
We arrived at the airport at 9am and Rob said he'd be about 20mins to drop the car back - so he left Jade, Blake and I waiting for him - which was all good..... Jade amused Blake and I just had to make sure she wasn't too rough and the time passed reasonably quickly....
Once Rob got back to us, we realised that we were at the wrong end of the terminal for checking in - so we had to get all of our luggage and carseats and kids up to the other end to check in... and it's all self-check these days... I didn't realise that Qantas was like that now too - but they are... we'd gone to check - because when I used to fly with Jade I couldn't do the self check because they need to confirm that the infant is infact below 2... which clearly Blake is....
So I went to ask one of the ladies down at the Qantas area - and she let us check in with the Business Checkin place - so we didn't have to wait long to get all of our luggage out of our hands...
Once we'd done that - we only had 20mins before it was time to board the plane - so we didn't even get a chance to have breakfast.. poor Jade... although she seemed quite happy with the fruit cake on the flight...
We arrived in Brisbane and only had 30mins til our next flight - so we changed and fed blake and headed to the gate... they had a cafe there - so we got Jade a fruit salad... the lady behind the counter was confused with a child who didn't want the chocolates - but just wanted the fruit salad... but I think after being away from home for a week - it's the simple things you want... (not that we ended up having much takeaway while we were away.... Yay for Cabins with Kitchens and cousins that cook you dinner!)
Anyway, we landed in Gladstone at 1:05pm and we were all glad to be home.... unfortunately when we unpacked the jogger pram when we got home the front wheel snapped off... so we think it was probably damaged on the flight - but it wasn't "broken" when we got it off the plane because we wheeled Blake in it to the car.... anyway, not to worry.... we're home... that's what counts!!
I've even managed to get about 80% of the laundry done today... have run out of line space - so will have to do the other 2 loads tomorrow.... everything else is packed away - so at least that is all finished.....
