Saturday 6th February
So our morning started out with a conversation with the kids.....
Me: Hey.... can you guys help me clear out the trampoline area today of all the weeds??
Blake: Sure!
Jade: I'll be right.....
Ok then.... I'm not going to force her, but, there are rewards for helping.... Blake didn't know this - he helped because it's what he does... he likes helping people, he likes doing the right thing... and Jade wanted to spend the day glued to her laptop and didn't give it another thought.....
Blake and I spent a few hours pulling all of the weeds out and loading them into the garden bags ready to be taken to the tip.....
Even Honey pitched in to help....
This was Blake's favourite part.... bashing the weeds against the fence to break the dirt off them before disposing of the greenery....
Honey turned out to be no help at all!
He was very handy on the rake....
and then we're done!
After we'd finished, we headed to the shops and I let Blake buy whatever he wanted... I didn't even put a limit on it.... (which, I figured would come back to bite me... ) Blake's not the type of kid that has a million things he wants... so shopping with him can be a bit frustrating at times.... he looks at everything a million times over and then generally doesn't want anything... He did eventually decide on this Minion... he was marked down... I figured that was because he was the last one in stock and they were wanting to clear the shelf for a new product.... we noticed later that he was missing his "hair" from the hole in the top of his head... this does not bother Blake....
Boy did it bother Jade!!!
She was most unimpressed with the fact that Blake was bought a toy.... No one mentioned that!?!?! How is that fair!?!?!
Well, we'll see if that makes any difference in the future!
