Gold Coast Easter Holiday - Day 2 - Seaworld

Saturday 23rd April

We got up yesterday morning to head to Seaworld.... we met Ash & Daryl in the parking lot with all intentions of doing the park together....

Ash had her friend Myumi (I hope that's how you spell it) and her family meeting them as well..  We queued up (different queues for different tickets - and we'd bought that VIP pass which allows you unlimited access to 3 parks until 30 June - which was cheaper than buying one day admission at the gate)

We got through probably 30mins before Ash who also had pre-purchased tickets - but she had to go into some other weird queue - so who knows why theirs took so long....  so we pretty much just headed off and did our own thing... Ash and their lot did all the shows - and we just wandered around as it suited the kids.... (well - Jade really, Blake happily sat in his pram and watched everything happening)

Penguins were the first attraction...  Jade was fascinated by them for all of 10mins.. then she was over it...

Blake only watched them below the water (and honestly - they weren't doing anything overly exciting up on the surface)

Pelicans

Sesame Street Beach......

The first ride the kids went on was the Big Bird Bounce...

Once they started lifting the seating - I was half expecting Blake to attempt to get off... but he really enjoyed the ride... although did cry out to "get off.... get off" towards the end....

Oscar's beach cleanup was next....  this is a ride of trucks chained together going around a track... with horns...  and that's all it is... but Blake enjoyed it....   Jade got in the back of the truck with Rob...

Unfortunately we didn't get to the start of the Bert & Ernie show - but the kids loved what we did see...
I had been told that it only ran for 10mins - so I don't imagine we missed much....  Jade was very excited when Bert waved to her.....

Cookie Monster Carousel next....  Horses were the focus here....

Snow Cones were the only food item we purchased at Seaworld.... and boy were they well worth it.... Even Rob and I had some....

After the snow cones we went to look at the Ray Fish....there wasn't really anything to photograph there... and when there was I was busy holding Blake to make sure that he didn't fall into the tank... (it was a touch and feel type display - not that either kid wanted to put their hands into the stinky water)

After the Ray Fish - we headed to the Polar Bears - but couldn't find any.... then Ash called to say that they were going to go and watch the Pirate show... so we said we'd head over there too...  Jade had a meltdown because she wanted to see the Sharks - and we had to have discussions about these things being for other people too...

We ended up calling it a day after 3hrs at the Park... and I'm honestly not sure I'm in a hurry to do theme parks with the kids again until they're much older.... Jade would have loved going to a Zoo more than she enjoyed Seaworld - it seems that you can only really see the animals there at "show" times - rather than just watching them behave naturally....

Before leaving - Jade spotted the Seals....

In all fairness, Jade lost her tooth once we got back from Seaworld and has had a temperature all of today.... it's not usual for her to be sick - and it does explain her lack of "happy" while at Seaworld.... (as well as the fact that she'd had a bad trip the day before)
