Good Friday
22nd April
We originally were going to go to Australia Zoo on the way down to the Gold Coast - but with Rob having been sick from Saturday and still feeling ill by Thursday, we'd decided to skip it... so instead of leaving at 3am - we left home at 8am... which we figured would have put us on the Gold Coast around 2pm.... maybe 3pm with a bit of traffic...
Little did we know that a truck and 4WD accident from the day before was still being cleared from the Bruce Hwy and we (along with Mom and Dad who were all of about 20 cars ahead of us in the traffic) were held up just outside Benaraby (for those who aren't local - Benaraby is about 30km away from Gladstone) for just over 2hrs - and then there was banked up traffic pretty much until we hit Gin Gin (which is 170km away from Gladstone)
For the first time ever, Jade didn't travel well... we had to keep opening her window for fresh air.... her second tooth up top was wobbly and barely hanging in by a thread by she didn't want to/wasn't able to pull it out...
We arrived at the Treasure Island Holiday Park at around 5pm... in time to pretty much set up the room - have dinner and go to bed.... but we'd told Jade about the pools at the place (and yes, they're heated - so we came prepared with togs) so she really badly wanted to go for a swim... (I still swear she's part penguin)
The Cabin:
Kids bunk room.
Lounge (really nice size!)
Our room... and this one comes complete with a Wobz
Bathroom (shower is unable to be used as a bath - so the kids are gonna have to learn to shower!)
Kitchen (complete with a laptop - as every travelling g33k family should!)
I think we were all very happy to head to bed at the end of this day!
