Yesterday was the day for Greg's 17th birthday party... he had some friends turn up to help him clear the yard and mow what little grass there is (but they also mowed the rest of the lawn while they were doing it)...

Rob bought some spotlights to setup on the verandah so that the entire yard was visible all night...
at the peak of the party there were about 90 people in our yard.... Rob estimates that there would have been at least 200 kids all up come and go...

Rob got a smoke machine from a mate as well as a strobe machine - so there was dancing in the shed....
Cops were advised about the party so they kept driving past to keep an eye on things (as well as about another 5 parties that were also on).. they first came to ask to turn the volume down at 8:30pm.... at 11:30pm they came and Rob went to talk to them to see if they were coming to shut the party down and they said "yes" - so Rob happily went and turned the stereo off and sent the kids home....

apparently all of these kids got into the Maxi Taxi - not sure how many they hold... I feel sorry for the taxi driver!

I went and spent the night at Jaime's house with the kids as there's no way they would have slept at all with all the noise happening... I must admit that I left feeling really sick with dread about the party and what damage was going to happen... but I'm pleasantly surprised at how well all of the kids behaved.. there were a couple of mini-dramas - but nothing majorly bad... all in all a great night - and all of the kids were remarking about how great the party was....
