Things getting back to normal.....

It's so good to be back in town and to start getting back to doing things like we used to before the arrival of Blake - and our recent trip to Sydney....

Jaime came around after she'd finished work today for our usual cup of tea :) We sat there and chatted until Mom arrived and we decided to take the kids back to Mom and Dad's place... But I also wanted to get Blake a bouncer... just a simple one... nothing battery operated...

So Jaime took off to the daycare to pick up Jade & Xander... and Mom, Blake and I headed off to Baby Haven to look at bouncers...

This is a common occurrence when we ask the kids to have a cuddle so that we can get photos..... Xander likes to show his strength I think!

You'd think that there was more than just 14months between these two.... especially when you consider that they are both tall for their ages.....

Anyway, back to Blake's Bouncer.... We got to Baby Haven and there was a reasonable selection of various bouncers.....80% of them were battery operated in one form or another - vibrations or swing... or both.... but we managed to find one that we liked.. and it folds down so we can actually take it travelling with us as well if we need.....

It's actually not a "bouncer" but a "rocker" - but that'll do... it's got the option to have it in "non-rocker" mode too... and the seat can be adjusted to sit Blake up or lay him down.... that's all I wanted.. so I'm happy :) (and so is Blake apparently... we put him in it and rocked him for a little while - and he was asleep again)

Since we got home from Travelling, Blake hasn't been the perfect night time baby... and has been irritable during the days.... we were starting to wonder if the first couple of weeks were just a Honeymoon period and now the divorce was starting... or whether there was something up....

Turns out, the heat must have been bothering him, because yesterday I decided that I'd test my heat theory... so we cranked up the aircon in our bedroom and opened the door leading into the nursery... and wrapped Blake.... and he slept til 12:45am then woke for a 30min feed (not the 3hrs that I'd been up the previous two nights)... and then he was up at 4am - but I went in and figured that he was just a bit chilly because he'd kicked off his wrap... so I put a polar fleece wrap around his belly and legs and he went straight back to sleep... and woke at 5am for a 30min feed... then slept til 10am... :) Yay!!!

We also had our 1 month checkup today... it's not usual to have a 1 month checkup - but at the 9 day checkup he wasn't back to his birth weight - so the Dr just wanted to make sure that he was chubbing up like he should be.... and he now weighs 5.1kgs (95th percentile), he's 55cm long (75th percentile) (Jade's birth length) and his head is 39cm (97th percentile)... so basically he's got a big head and is a big "Thomas" baby... but he's short... ehehe

Our next visit to the Doctor is in two weeks for Blake's needles and for my 6 week checkup... Fun Fun!
