Easter in Sydney 2015

Friday 3rd April

We got up nice and early, loaded the kids into the car and headed to the airport.... We had to be at the airport for a 6:30am flight... luckily the kids are good at early mornings....

Jade sat with me and Blake sat with Rob....  so we kept the noisy boys together while we enjoyed having a quieter section of the plane....  (the boys were ok with this too... apparently they like being noisy!)

We landed in Sydney at 11am and picked up our hire car and headed to Angela's....  lovely Sydney weather for Easter... :)   (it was a nice change from the hot weather in Gladstone!)

The kids were going a bit stir crazy after having been trapped on flights and in the airport all morning, so I took them for a walk down to the park... they didn't mind that it was spitting....

A bit of fun with the photos...

and running to find the park!

We didn't hang around too long because it was starting to get a bit cool... so we headed back to have a nice quiet evening....

Saturday 4th April

We headed down to Grandad's park to visit Bill... we thought that Aunty Bet was coming too, but Bill had got his days mixed up and she wasn't heading down there until Sunday (so we made plans to head back the following morning to see Aunty Bet & Pete).  It was cold and raining - so  the kids took their tablets and DS's and happily played while we caught up with Bill..

After leaving the park, we headed to Southgate where we'd hoped to go ten pin bowling - but the wait to get in was 2hrs... (apparently everyone in Sydney goes bowling when it's too wet to go outside!) and the idea of waiting 2hrs wasn't appealing... so we went to the shops and bought a Monopoly set and headed back to Angela's....

This version has "speed monopoly" in it - it's the best version of the game... you get extra money when you start and once you've made it around the board for the first time, you get to roll with an additional dice that forces you to move to a certain square if you get the monopoly man or the bus.... if you're lucky, you roll a 3 and you can just move those additional spaces....  it's hard to explain, but the game went so much quicker and was a lot of fun!

That evening we introduced Angela to Netflix as well as "the Princess Bride" .....

Sunday 5th April

The next morning the kids were up early and ready to go Easter Egg Hunting....

The kids with their Easter stashes!

Grandma got them Easter Bunny's from David Jones... these are posh bunnies... and OMG.. the chocolate was superb... (not that I tasted them AT ALL)

Loaded in the car and heading to the park again to see Bill, Aunty Bet & Pete....

The weather was a lot better, so after having morning tea we headed to the park.....

Monday 6th April

Our return flight was 9am.. but due to the weather, we'd got an sms saying that our flight was delayed... we decided to stick with our plan to get to the airport so that we had no issues with being late etc.....

When we hit this traffic, we were definitely glad that we'd left early... we were stuck at the lights for a few changes.....   when we arrived at the airport, it turned out that our flight wasn't even delayed.....  (never going to pay attention to one of those messages! it's not worth the risk...)
