Blake's first solo ride on a motorbike....

Thursday 20th June

We headed down to Bundaberg early as we'd managed to get Jade into a Child Psychiatrist to get her tested for ADHD and we'd only found out that afternoon that there had been a spot opened up (else we had to wait 8 weeks to get in for our first appointment).  Jade was going to Mom and Dad's for the first week of her school holidays and 22nd June was her last day of school for the term, so we emailed the school, explained and she missed that last day...

We got up early for some bird watching.... Jade loves this part of visiting Gran and Grandpa and she's very specific about each type of bird and looks them all up in Mom's giant book of Australian Birds...

After we'd been to see the Psych - we took the kids to the local motorbike shop to get them bike boots (they're not THAT expensive that you don't figure that it's worth protecting them properly from potential injury)

Blake wasn't overly happy at the bike shop as they didn't have boots in his size....

Jade was happy with her boots and new gloves...

Blake did manage to get new gloves... but they also didn't have the correct helmets - so we held off getting him one until we could order a proper trials helmet.... (which is lighter and offers more air than conventional motocross helmets)

As you can probably imagine, Blake took to this fairly quickly as he's mastered the art of riding his bmx without training wheels etc.. which we'd decided was the answer after having gone through years of trying to get Jade riding and letting her ride the oset and her Bmx with training wheels...
(Blake never had training wheels and it was definitely the best way to go about things!)

Poor Blake, when we first put him onto the bike we had the speed restricted so that the bike wouldn't take off without him... this didn't make him very happy because he wanted to go fast!

This is a bit longer... 5mins of vid of both kids - but mostly Blake and including two "accidents" by Blake and one near miss by Jade....

We left Jade at Mom and Dad's for the week and headed home.

Worn out after a day of riding, Blake slept the entire drive home.....
