Swimming Lessons..... Jade's turn....

Monday 10th January

Change has never been something Jade has taken to easily... it's always been a big drama when things change at daycare or swimming....  although, she did enjoy her move to "Junior Gym" because she was with the "Preppie" kids....  she was with kids older than herself but she seems to fit in quite well with the bigger kids....

When I said that she'd be doing swimming lessons with the "Preppie" kids and the pool was going to be set out differently (ie. they set up lanes rather than have the kids swimming width wise on the pool) she was very excited to go to lessons (which I had worried was just something that would pass by the time we got there - she seems to like doing the "cling to mom" approach to new stuff - but no, she went and sat with the other kids to wait to be called to her lesson).

She ended up having the same teacher that she'd had last term - so that made the change a lot easier..... the kids that she's in with I'd suggest were going into Grade 1 or 2 this year, they had definitely already done this type of lesson as the teacher had to keep showing Jade different things that they were doing, and I know I hadn't seen her doing that type of thing before "preppie" days...

The "surprised" look - is created by putting on of the cap and not keeping it away from the eyebrows!

That's better!
Oh boy those eyes are going to cause us some grief when it comes to dating!

Jade needed a bit of coaching, but most of the time the teacher would call her to start swimming before she'd even got back to her (helps when you have a teacher that knows what she's capable of from the word go)

Should be interesting to see how quickly Jade advances now that she's with the older kids.....  she's already part penguin... I wonder if she'll go for the full conversion?
