Jade's game started at 10am... and we even managed to get there extra early so that she could kick the ball around with a few of her team mates before it was due to start (always the best way to start her games - but not always possible with two separate fields and two kids playing....)
She asked and was allowed to play Goalie for the first part of the game (they share the position around - goalie is new to Under 8's - so all of the kids want to give it a go.... and I thought it was a position that no one would ever want, but they seem to want it because it's different)

(this didn't happen a lot - the ball just didn't seem to make it down to their end... which is a good thing! they've got some really strong players on their team...)
