Brisbane Weekend....

Friday 26th April 2013

As soon as the school run was complete, the kids were packed in the car and we headed off to Brisbane....  we were heading down to watch a derby bout on the Saturday night (Northern Brisbane Rollers -vs- Victorian Roller Derby League) and a Junior Derby Bout on the Sunday morning before returning ready for another week.....

And.... Roadworks.... 

(these made travelling very unpleasant this year.... but thankfully - the majority of it is over now...)

Blake seems to like these chips....

And they're asleep!!! yay!!!

We stayed with Body down in Brisbane for the weekend... the kids love her dog "Bear"

Saturday 27th April

Rob went off to have a nice relaxing day shopping with Body while I took the kids for the day... so I took them to visit Michael and Ingrid...

First we went shopping (just to pass time) - and I found this...  I loved Simon Says as a kid - and it was great to have this little pocket version to muck around with... for all of $10..

We stopped at a Cafe and had milkshakes...

Then we went to a play centre.. which really left a lot to be desired.. but it killed a bit of time....

Then we headed to Michael and Ingrid's house.... and Michael's daughter Ilease came over with her kids... and Christina is 6 months older than Jade... they had a ball....  dress-ups and in-house skating... 

We stayed there for dinner, and once that was complete, the kids and I headed back to Body's house to have a nice relaxing evening....  

Rob and Body were at the bout, and it was too much for kids who'd had a full day... so we didn't even attempt to make it....

Oh, we did find these cute slippers at shopping... the kids love them...

Sunday 28th April

We headed to Digi for a Junior Derby bout..  Digi Dodgers -vs- Twin Town Brats....

The kids had their faces painted... 

(not sure who by, but... they liked it...)

As Michael was walking into the event, he ducked under a sign and brought his head up before he'd got completely under it - and cut a fair slice into his head... so he and Ingrided headed to find a doctor/hospital... we kept Christina at the rink with us while they were gone....

Then it was time to head home again.....   tired and dirty the kids did not object to getting into the car at the end of the bout....

and... he's out!

We stopped at Aunty Lyn's servo to get drinks and say hi quickly on our way home....

  

Blake needed another stop....
