Sydney Holiday 2011 - Day 1

We flew out of Gladstone at 11am.... had a bit of time to waste in Brissy and then straight down to Sydney...  the flights were fantastic... the kids were just perfect....  although, Blake did get a bit upset on the first flight when we had to turn off his android tablet (it's basically a DVD player - without all the buttons and stuff.... with a touch screen....  they've got a few games on them - but the kids have both just used them to watch movies really)

We got to Sydney - picked up the rental car and came to the van park to get the keys to our cabin and drop our gear off and preferably make the beds before heading over to Angela's for dinner...  the bedding wasn't in the cabin - so that theory was out the window.... and Blake had fallen asleep in the car - so we decided to head straight over....

Of course, that means Blake woke about 2mins later... so he'd had all of a 15min power nap in the car.... better than nothing....

We had Red Rooster for dinner as that was quick and simple for dinner, got the kids bathed and then headed back to the cabin to get them off to sleep....  that was a bit of a fail as Jade was getting upset at Blake for being upset and she kept saying "Blake, I have a big day tomorrow, please let me sleep"  - - it was really cute... but it turns out that Blake just wanted to get up to go to the toilet before bed ... then he happily went off to bed and not another sound was heard....

We had a pretty shocking night's sleep as it was FREEZING in the cabin - and the heater in this one is a really old clunker of a aircon/heater....  it blows more cold air than warm - and shakes the entire cabin in doing so....oh - and our bed came with a thin doona and a really airy blanket....  (we're opting for the deluxe cabins again next time as this just isn't worth the money you save....)

But that's pretty much it for Day1..... no pics as the camera was happily packed with the luggage for once!  (and it'll be like that for the trip back too... was so nice not having much to take onto the planes... just two laptops and two Androids, an "essentials" backpack.... and two kids.... much much better.....)
