Brooweena 2011

Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd July......

It was time for Brooweena again... we missed last year as we were all sick... but a cold wasn't going to hold me back this year...  our new Trials Club hosted the event (although the Maryborough guys did all the hard work in setting the sections etc.....)

On Friday morning, I dropped Jade with Mom and Dad before heading off to work.... so Jade travelled down with Mom and Dad in their van.. which she thought was fantastic cause she got to sit in the middle in the front and see everything that was happening....

We left town once I'd finished work for the day... (well - once I'd finished having Happy New "financial" Year lunch with work people)  we got to Brooweena around 5:30pm.... set up the caravan and Rob and Jade headed down to the little fire while I got Blake to bed.... Jade ended up going in while he was still awake - so it took forever for both kids to go to sleep that night... Rob ended up going to bed at 8:30 so that he could make the kids go to sleep....

I froze overnight... and Blake kept waking every hour or so because of getting himself uncovered...    The next morning - everyone was up around 6am... 

Rob had bought bacon - so he got up and cooked and we all had bacon burgers for breakfast....

After breakfast, Rob and Jade - the resident pyro's went to play with the fire and burn sticks and blow them out - and set them on fire again.... so much fun... especially when you have to explain to a 2yr old not to move the stick away from the fire else he'll burn someone....

After their rides, it was time to get their bicycles out and head down to the bottom paddock ...

Blake was getting away fairly quickly... he's quite a little zoomer on his Strider Bike

instead of trying to catch him, Jade decided the best way to catch up was to stop and cry about it...

Folding arms is another brilliant racing technique..... I'm surprised Lance Armstrong never tried that....

Jade back with us, was happy again...

Until, Blake decided to head off because he didn't want to stand around doing nothing...

The kids went to play in the bush while I took photos of all the riders....

Everyone lined their bike up for a photo... this could potentially be our last Brooweena as the land we've been riding on for the last 9yrs is up for sale....

Once the trial was over, we threw the kids in the car and drove home so that we could get everything unpacked and make sure we had everything we needed for our trip to Sydney the following morning.....
