Second Lounge......

The Sofa's finally arrived....  9:45 - even though I was told at the LATEST 9:30 - but I don't care - they're here... they're in.... and I got photos!

I realise that it's not a huge area... but it's more than big enough to keep people comfy... and the 360 is down there - so that Rob and Greg can make noise without me killing them for waking the kids!

The spare TV looks so small... although it's only an 81cm LCD...  but it's big enough for a spare...  (just think in 10yrs time they'll all be about 200cm and we'll think that an 81cm is only good as a gym TV)...

Even better is the fact that we can close both doors to the rest of the house - which should DEFINITELY keep the noise out from upstairs... or most of it anyway!

If you look really closely - you can see that there is a coffee table in the corner of the two sofas... unfortunately it blends in to the horrible orange paintwork on the floor (some people just don't use their brains when decorating a house.....) - - - that wont be an issue once we can get the place tiled... but that's still going to be a little while away...

And just for something new... Blake sleeping... he's been asleep like that since 5am... and it's now 10:15 and he hasn't started to wake yet.... I definitely think he prefers daytime to sleep... constant temperatures are his friend!

Daycare Xmas Party....

Jade's daycare had their xmas party this afternoon... I didn't take the camera as last year Mom had been asked to be careful what pics she took because other parents get paranoid about their kids appearing in photos yada yada.... so I didn't take the camera.... then all these other parents had cameras... I think next year I'll take it and just risk getting told off...

You should have seen Jade's face when she got her present from Santa...  I don't think I've seen her so excited before....  she was shaking her present around running up to me... like she couldn't believe Santa finally had one for her... she waited so patiently through the Nursery kids, toddlers, pre-kindy1, pre-kindy2 and then they got to the kindy kids... and she must have been the last of the kindy kids... so I think she'd almost given up hope...

For the first part of the day - I spent the day waiting at home for my sofas and coffee table to be delivered...  they were to be dropped off "first thing" this morning... we said we'd be home by 9:30 - and we were home by 9am... by 11am we were starting to wonder when they'd show up - so we called... "oh, they're still trying to finish a job from yesterday - they'll bring it over after lunch"....  I realise that "after lunch" doesn't specify a time either - but by 3pm I was starting to wonder again... so I phoned... "oh, they're REALLY busy today....  but you'll get it...."  -- so I'm kinda umming and ahhing on the phone.. and she said "do you have to be somewhere?" -- "yeah, kids christmas party - need to be there at 4pm".... "oh... well I'll organise something.. leave it with me" ... about 5mins later I got a call "first thing tomorrow... no later than 9:30am" - - - two of the guys had gone home and only one guy left - so it wasn't going to get here....

So I can't blog pics of the lounge downstairs...  but we moved the spare TV and DVD player and Xbox 360 in and got it set up (Rob's still gotta get power to there somehow - but that's not a big deal...) - - - so all we need to do tomorrow is get the sofas and I can take a photo... there'll still be all the junk in the background of the photo... but I can't help that until we have a shed....

I did manage to get a pic of Blake sleeping today - he's too cute!!

Another Busy Day.....

I've been hoping for a nice quiet day, but I'm not sure when that'll happen... I had thought that today would be quiet - but Mom and I spent all morning and part of the afternoon cleaning out the guest room and also clearing out room downstairs to put in a second lounge area....

Guest Room
Complete with Internet
(I don't think we have any friends or relatives who don't need a daily fix of the internet - so this is always the more comfortable option for everyone... no one stealing my computer - and guests not having to feel that they have to just get on check emails and get off because they're borrowing someone's computer...)

Blake helping with the cleaning!

(This is more for Rob)

We removed the "Bar" Fridge - and we'll be getting back our old fridge and Frank and Shayne borrowed - but I'm currently making plans in my head about how we're going to use this space better.... especially now that we'll have a downstairs lounge area....

(Another pic mainly for Rob's benefit)

Mom cleaned Rob's office a bit... but... it's still very much a boys room... this is why we've made sure to set up the computer with internet in the guest room - so that Angela didn't have to try to survive the two weeks using the guest computer in this room...
Guest computers everywhere! we're just too nice!! (more like Greg has friends that come over and Rob doesn't generally get away from his computer much - so we'd previously set up a computer down there for Greg's friends (which Jade has claimed as her own - and Greg's friends usually give up the computer if she goes down there...)).
We then decided to clear out the other "Garage" which we had closed in earlier... we've been planning to convert this room into an "entertainment" room - but until we have the Shed to put all of our stuff in - there's still too much stuff downstairs that we'd need to move before we can get someone in to completing the tiling downstairs....
So, we decided to try to clear enough room to at least get a basic sofa set so that we can put the spare TV down there and have a lounge that we can hang out in at night without disturbing the kids.... and it means that Rob can play his Guitar Hero without disturbing sleeping kids too!! yay!!

All the clutter piled...

The Empty Section...

Jade Rocked Blake to sleep this afternoon....

And then had some icecream....

Happy Holidays Greg!

I forgot to do a post yesterday (and yes, I did get in trouble for forgetting to blog it).... but, Greg left yesterday to head to Sydney so that he and Mat could fly out to America today....

I'm sure Kylie was the worst affected.. .having to go without Greg for the month that he's gone...

But I'm sure Lil is getting really excited about having both her boys in the states for Christmas....

Sorry I didn't get a photo before he left - but he hasn't changed much since his informal! ehehe

The boys arrived (a little late) to the airport today and made it through in time to catch their flight... so hopefully they're having an enjoyable flight so far....  and here's hoping Greg has a great holiday and that Mat settles in over there (he's not coming back - he's going to live with Lil over there)...

One Month Old!!!

It's been a month already! Time is flying... I've only got two more weeks til I can drive again... then I wont have to call Mom everytime I need to go for a blood test or when I run out of milk...

I had been pain free (ie. no pain at all from the surgery) - that was until today.... I'm not sure if the trolley I had at shopping was harder to push than usual - but I'm a little sore now - but hopefully that'll get better over night....

Anyway, here's pics of Blake from today....

Things getting back to normal.....

It's so good to be back in town and to start getting back to doing things like we used to before the arrival of Blake - and our recent trip to Sydney....

Jaime came around after she'd finished work today for our usual cup of tea :) We sat there and chatted until Mom arrived and we decided to take the kids back to Mom and Dad's place... But I also wanted to get Blake a bouncer... just a simple one... nothing battery operated...

So Jaime took off to the daycare to pick up Jade & Xander... and Mom, Blake and I headed off to Baby Haven to look at bouncers...

Xander 100% cuteness as usual :)

This is a common occurrence when we ask the kids to have a cuddle so that we can get photos..... Xander likes to show his strength I think!
You'd think that there was more than just 14months between these two.... especially when you consider that they are both tall for their ages.....
Dynamic Duo...

a little more serious!

How's this for a pose??

Anyway, back to Blake's Bouncer.... We got to Baby Haven and there was a reasonable selection of various bouncers.....80% of them were battery operated in one form or another - vibrations or swing... or both.... but we managed to find one that we liked.. and it folds down so we can actually take it travelling with us as well if we need.....
It's actually not a "bouncer" but a "rocker" - but that'll do... it's got the option to have it in "non-rocker" mode too... and the seat can be adjusted to sit Blake up or lay him down.... that's all I wanted.. so I'm happy :) (and so is Blake apparently... we put him in it and rocked him for a little while - and he was asleep again)

Since we got home from Travelling, Blake hasn't been the perfect night time baby... and has been irritable during the days.... we were starting to wonder if the first couple of weeks were just a Honeymoon period and now the divorce was starting... or whether there was something up....

Turns out, the heat must have been bothering him, because yesterday I decided that I'd test my heat theory... so we cranked up the aircon in our bedroom and opened the door leading into the nursery... and wrapped Blake.... and he slept til 12:45am then woke for a 30min feed (not the 3hrs that I'd been up the previous two nights)... and then he was up at 4am - but I went in and figured that he was just a bit chilly because he'd kicked off his wrap... so I put a polar fleece wrap around his belly and legs and he went straight back to sleep... and woke at 5am for a 30min feed... then slept til 10am... :) Yay!!!

We also had our 1 month checkup today... it's not usual to have a 1 month checkup - but at the 9 day checkup he wasn't back to his birth weight - so the Dr just wanted to make sure that he was chubbing up like he should be.... and he now weighs 5.1kgs (95th percentile), he's 55cm long (75th percentile) (Jade's birth length) and his head is 39cm (97th percentile)... so basically he's got a big head and is a big "Thomas" baby... but he's short... ehehe

Our next visit to the Doctor is in two weeks for Blake's needles and for my 6 week checkup... Fun Fun!

Christmas is approaching.....

Here's a pic taken 29th November.... just haven't had anything else to blog with.... we've just been trying to settle back in at home and get Jade back into a routine....

Yesterday after Jade's swimming lesson (which actually went quite well) - we went to BigW and bought ourselves a new Christmas Tree... and a few decorations to add to the stuff we already had... Jade loved the whole shopping experience.... she loved even more

Ahhh... shiny floor!!
