Hustler Support Shirts......

Wednesday 28th February

3 days out from our bout - it was brought to our attention that our league had not received their merchandise... there was nothing we were going to be able to do to get that gear in - in time....  So, Rob and I went through various stores to work out our options... and we decided on getting Black tops - as women like the racer back tanks and men like t-shirts....  men aren't going to be convinced to wear purple as easily as they are black....

So, time is ticking... so we made up some "Let's get ready to Hustle!" shirts.... costing $7 to make - and selling for $15 - the league made a tidy profit on these and we had something to present at the bout.... (sometimes having a vinyl cutter and heat press is a pain in the bum - even though it was handy!!! - two very late nights making up 70 odd shirts...)

In doing so - I made some identifiable supporter tops! :)
(The kids were most impressed with theirs.....)

New Bout Signs......

It was time to make new signs for the March Bout.... so we bought some big sheets of Vinyl and cut some stickers out.... Von and Monique came over to help out for the evening......

Rob has his own sign now....

You can no longer miss where the First Aid is at the track - which is very important....

And always important to know where the bad girls are!

Prepping for the Soccer Season......

Friday 15th February..... I signed the kids up for Soccer......

This year, they have an Under 5's grade... so Blake is very excited because he gets to play too.... so we took the kids to get boots....  the smallest boot they had was a size 12 - and we got them for Blake - figuring that with his soccer socks in them, they'd be ok.... (he's only in 10-11 usually)  but, they were just too big...

So, I took Blake shopping to get him some smaller ones from the sports store.....  they're so little and cute and tiny.... Nawwwwrrr....

Valentines Day 2013

2008 was the last time Rob and I had been together for Valentines day....  the following 4 years he was in Townsville - everytime!

This year I had him here.... and we were "clearly" going to make the most of it....

First you have to start with the Super Soppy Facebook messages about how perfect you wonderful spouse is.....   (this is just cut and paste from my facebook wall.... I posted first - so that's why it's on the bottom.. you kinda have to read up... )

And then you have to buy them some very expensive and well wrapped present....  presentation is EVERYTHING!!!
(ok, so these were thrown to me on the couch in a plastic bag.....)

I'm not even sure what we had for dinner, but we just stayed in with the kids.... and we had a great night watching Breaking Bad.. (oh yeah, even our show was unromantic.... ehehe) - - - but.... still the best Valentines ever....

LOVE YOU WOBZ!

Epic Scrim..... Epic Fail......!

Sunday 11th February...

So, I drove back from Bundaberg, got some sleep - got up - got dressed and got all excited about going down to Epic Scrim.... I was going to make sure I got enough derby into those two bouts that were being held on the day so that I didn't feel like I'd missed out on anything..

The first bout was co-ed... I LOVE co-ed....  guys are GREAT to play with....   the second bout was girls only, but this is good too - less players... more track time.....  this was a win-win day for me.....

Team Selection....

And we're off.....  first jam....

and, before the first jam was even over... I was sat on a seat talking to a St Johns guy..... and... OUT....

But, he strapped my ankle after a bit of a rest and I was back on the track.....

but, I only lasted that one jam and my ankle was definitely not happy with me.... so I called it a day.... and bench managed for the rest of the day - with a major sulk on my face.....

The Epic Scrim weekend people.....

Rob on the other hand, had a ball... got to spend the entire weekend with these people and couldn't have asked for more....

Gran's 90th Party......

Saturday 9th February

The day started like any other weekend in Bundy - the kids watching TV......  *giggle* ok - FRANK and the kids.... :)

And then... a knock at the door....

Carl came up with an elaborate story about coming to Bundaberg to help a friend of his clear some trees that had fallen on his property with the floods, so he thought he'd drop in and say hi....

Blake testing out Grandpa's wheelchair....

some totem tennis....

you can see the water marks from the floods.... and the "mulch" that you can see around the garden is raked up twigs etc that were brought into the yard by the flood waters....

Playing with the various settings on the camera....

My little poser... :)

We had a great night - we got the kids back to Mom and Dad's...   The kids were staying the night but I had to drive home that night to get back to a Roller Derby Event in Gladstone that I'd already missed day 1 of... so I was determined to make up for it on Day 2.....   Frank was heading back the next day - so leaving the kids there was a very easy option :)
