Adopt-a-grandparent 2016

Saturday 3rd December

This year, as we're going to Darwin, we're not going to be able to do the Nursing Home visit for Adopt-a-Grandparent... so we decided to do the Anglicare Adopt-a-grandparent instead... They ask you to donate food items and Christmas things to someone who might be doing it tough financially....

Blake came with me to do the shopping this year...

Having such a caring child with you with the "we need to get items that they might need for Christmas or items they might not otherwise be able to buy" means that he's very giving.....   We ended up spending way more than I'd imagined we would... but it was all for a good cause....

He was pretty convinced they'd need A LOT of lollies!

We got a washing basket, so that we could load it all up into that to give to them... and it would be a useful item also...

They also ask you to get a "present" for the person.... so this was an older guy with his teenage grandaughter coming over..... it's hard to buy something for people you don't know... so I just went with the assumption that teenagers like to smell nice....
