BlockSpot long Weekend....29th April to 2nd May.....

Friday 29th April

Weekend trial down at Baxy's over the May long weekend....  (we were staying at the BlockSpot and would just travel to Lowmead to compete... (it's only 20mins away) (or... at least that was the plan...)

I made required stickers for signs and section markers....

Even some name plates.....

After a quick trip to the shop to get jeans (because apparently Jade grew - and didn't have any jeans that fit anymore)

Honey was very excited to be going away on a trip....

We have a number!!!!
(Thanks to Mom and Dad - we have a number on our letter box!)

The kids decided they wanted to sleep in their pop-tents for the night... who am I to argue!?!? ;)

This was the weekend we discovered BBQ'd mushrooms - and a special salt that came with them... they were AWESOME!

Mmmm mushrooms!!!!!

And then I spent an exciting part of the evening making section markers.....

Somehow, I don't think they're sleeping in there.....

Riding in the dark is always fun......

Saturday 30th April

They survived the night.....

In the morning we discovered the shower "change room" - my parents are awesome - and this was put on without us even knowing about it....  (yup yup... I'm the dirty grot who didn't show until morning!)

The fire is going strong.... (we're burning a lot of stuff that we're clearing off the hill)

Gave Blake a saw - and he went crazy... cutting down... well, pretty much anything he could stick it into... whether we wanted him to or not!

A break from clearing... and we're playing Exploding Kittens....

We went up to the dam... and Honey decided to go for a swim.....

Yup, you're not going to catch me in THAT water.... so grotty!

Extra protection for Jade.. from Sun... and from coming off the bike....

Blake testing out his new Camelbak....

Rob had to head in to Bundy to go to Bunnings - so I asked for shower hooks.... and ta-daaah!  Shower Change room just stepped it up a notch!

The disadvantage to kids enjoying playing with saws is when they don't stop when it gets dark.. and then they cut their hand!  Yup... that's my kid!

Ninja Onesie Time!

Sunday 1st May

We got up and had breakfast....

Rob was very excited about his double-yolker

Honey cared not for BBQ eggs... she stayed in her hole....

It wasn't until after breakfast that we'd realised that Betty hadn't come sniffing out food when Rob was cooking....  At this point we realised that we couldn't go to the trials comp as we had to start spending the day looking for Betty... I called Mom and gave her the bad news and she and Frank headed back from Lowmead to help with the search..

By the time they arrived I had already walked the property - up and down the creek - stopping and listening for Betty...  being that she's deaf and blind, there was no point calling for her... and the concern was that she'd got herself caught up in a grass tree and was terrified....

When Mom arrived, we again walked the property...  once we were fairly sure that she wasn't still at the property - we decided to make a couple of signs for the local stores hoping that someone may have seen her wandering around....

We approached all of the neighbours close to our property ... we met some interesting people....

We went to bed that night fearing the worst......

Monday 2nd May

8:20am - the world was a happy place again.... a gentleman came up to our property and brought Betty out asking if this was the dog we'd been looking for....

He'd found her at his Gran's place - she'd gone to join all of their dogs looking for food etc.....

A very tired girl she was!

Mom and Dad were leaving after the weekend to go down to Uncle John's to help him pack up his van etc and get ready for his move back to Victoria....  Betty came home with us (yup, Mom trusted me still, to take Betty and look after her....)

When we got home, Betty followed me everywhere.... which included 4 trips up and down the stairs with our gear from the weekend away as well as laundry etc.... she was definitely pooped by the end of the day!
