Stoney Creek - Take1

Thursday 7th January

We haven't been to Stoney Creek to swim since Jade was a baby.. (and I mean BABY... she was 12 weeks or so - New Years Eve 2005) - so it was time to head back there and introduce the kids to it...

Since Cyclone Marcia passed through last year, it cleared out all of the trees - which means it's not as shaded as it used to be... but that means that the water is warmer than it used to be too....

We travelled up with Relene and her kids (Michaela, Georgia & Lucas) and Marney and her kids (Lachlan, Angus, Abbie & Emma) met us up there (because they were running late and didn't manage to catch us while we were still in Yeppoon!)......

Yeppoon Water Park
We first stopped at the Water Park - in an attempt to meet up with Marney (but, as said earlier - they didn't end up meeting us - and we headed off without them because the kids were getting a little impatient - in all fairness - we did hang around there for nearly 2hrs!)

Getting them to pose for a group shot ended in a fail....

Georgia & Michaela

The waterpark is great.... but really for younger kids.... though, some of the structures I do wonder how they got them approved as they appear fairly dangerous when you consider that you add water and running children.... such as the hexagonal blocks behind Jade in the above picture... kids were running around them, it wouldn't take much to slip.....

On the road again!
Blake and Lucas came with me and Jade went with the girls to Stoney Creek.....

Stoney Creek!
We made it.... and the kids were suitably impressed.....

Because the original plan for Stoney Creek was to just take Georgia with us - I'd gone and bought Jade, Georgia and Blake body boards the day before.....  so there was a bit of a struggle when it came to having to share them between 9 kids.... but, we managed....

And we're home!
Jade and Georgia wanted to travel back to Gladstone together... which then turned into Georgia coming home with us for the night.....  The main reason to get these two together again was because Georgia was starting at Central in the new school year... it's like these two had been friends forever.... little geek girls together!

They spent the night playing Minecraft and giggling.....

Blake didn't want to miss out on all of the action....
