Saturday 6th September
We went for our first weekend down to the property - Rob had already spent an entire day down at the property taking down beds and couches etc... we took down another trailer and vito load of gear down with us... and poor Rob spent most of the weekend doing electrical work to ensure that the "special" work of the previous owner could be removed before it caused a fire....
The view between the shed and the kitchen....
Inside the shed....
The kids corner!
Door to the kitchen from the shed door....
Inside the kitchen (Black Boxes are batteries charged by a solar cell)
Camping area
Spare shed.... (this is where we put all of the chairs and tables when we pack up after the weekend)
With all of the equipment Rob had to buy for the shed - he snuck in a Quad Copter too.....)
A DT that had been given (??) to Dad that he's done up..... he wanted to give it a test run as he'd not previously taken it for a ride....
Uncle John was up visiting Mom and Dad for a couple of weeks - so he came camping too :)
We did Father's Day on the Saturday afternoon as the kids were wanting to give Dad their presents and we weren't sure if Frank and Lisa were definitely staying the night.....
(also - wanted to give Rob his present as Mom and Dad had forgotten to bring the legs to their BBQ - so we needed to use Rob's present.... and make him cook!)
The kids presenting Rob his present...
The Brush Turkey tried to get into the jelly beans....
Time to get the fire happening!
The whole five minutes that Rob played with his quad copter before it died....
BBQ time.....
The temporary shower room (well, shower in a bucket)
Jade and Blake decided to have themselves a dance competition....
Sunday 7th September
Sunday was the day for Lisa to learn to ride the DT175....
and practising the art of falling off.... nicely done!
Blake wore out the battery on the 16" Oset - so then he spent some time on the 20" - but it threw him off and spooked him a little.....
Jade happily rode her Gas Gas.....
(it'd been serviced - so it was running better... though, still a bit hard to start)
Blake helped Grandpa move the van....
We couldn't get the 348 started, so Blake offered to try kicking it over for us....
Down into the creek for a bit of a play... (I took the kids up the path on the 348 and they went straight down into the water to muck around)
Then it was time for a bit of meditation...
Blake thought it looked like fun...
Then Jade decided to try to get her legs all tangled up and join in....
I remember doing this as a kid :)
SUCCESS!
Frank came along to join in too :)
Sword fighting.... :)
We managed to get Blake on the PeeWee for a bit of a ride before we headed home... at least we managed to get him happy on the bike again :)
The weekend was a little "rushed" - we only spent just over 24hrs out there.... and Rob spent most of the weekend doing electrical work... but it was very relaxing... I can't wait to spend weekends down there when we can just sit around and not do lots of things... but, for now - this is more than happy enough! :)
