I've been to Gladstone, Dubbo, Queanbeyan, Canowindra, Tumut, Queenbeyan (again), then Sydney, Bingara, Gundiwini, Cobar.. and I've run out of places. But I've been to all of them in the past couple of days. If I get enthusiastic I'll hyperlink them all, but, it's been a shitload of travelling.
All of them prior to Cobar have been CardXpress stuff. This is VoIP. I'm ripping out an old crappy Alcatel PBX, and replacing it all with a VoIP system. It was quite lucky that the guys doing this found me JUST at the same time I was doing a CardX trip. I had decided that I wasn't going to do any VoIP stuff any more, but this sounded like a fun job, and I was already in NSW, so it was only a couple of hundred K's west of where I was...
I'm going to have dinner. Something with a big slice of rare cow would go down nicely right about now 8)

A busy day....
I had planned on spending the morning doing my laundry, hanging it out, ironing and getting it all away.... Clearly, this is not what Mother Nature had in store for me... we got up this morning, it was raining... just typical!!!
So, I loaded up the car, got Jade off to school and took the laundry down to the shop to do, so that I could dry it all without spending 3 days trying to get it all done at home....
When I got to the shop, it looked like everyone in town had decided to drop their washing off due to the rain, so I stayed and helped Mom to get all the folding done... once that was finished we went to visit their rental property (which I had never seen in all the years they've owned it).. then Mom dropped me at the Mater Hospital so that I could visit Bec & AJ and Emily (their new addition to the family)...
I got home in time to have some lunch, do a bit of cleaning and then go out shopping for chocolate (Today was Shayne's birthday... and chocolate is the present of choice! ehe)
I left Shayne's in time to get home to pick up Greg and take him for a haircut... I thought he just wanted a trim to get the hair out of his face while he's playing footy, but he asked if he could get it cut short.... I told him that it's his hair.. he can do what he likes.... so he went for the mowhawk....

Back (you can't really see, but it does spike out the back too!)Jade was really happy once we picked her up from school (we picked her up before the hairdressers) - her tinkerbell dress arrived today... although now she's going around saying "I'm a fairy.... make a spell!"

Show me the wings??

Another week nearly over......

It's really been an uneventful week in the Thomas Household this week....
Jade was a little unwell on Monday, so we didn't go to swimming lessons (more because I didn't want it getting worse)...
Rob left for another one of his trips on Thursday, he's down in NSW fixing CardXpress computers and de-commissioning one and dragging it home (so he wont be sleeping in the van after he's picked that up as there wont be any room... - they're BIG cases)...
He's hoping to be home again by Thursday (The Wiggles are coming to the Harbour Festival on Thursday night for Family night.... so we're going to go to see them, and Rob's hoping to be there)... but more importantly... this year is going to be Jade's first Easter Egg Hunt... so he really doesn't want to miss that... unfortunately, it may become a reality - but we'll deal with that if we have to....
Greg travelled to "Bluff" yesterday morning - he had to be on the team bus at 6am for his midday game - and then another game at 4:30... so it was a really long day for him... he managed to get home at 10:30pm....
This morning we got up and went to Mom and Dad's then Jade, Mom and I headed into the local markets to have a look around... we picked up Jade a couple of wooden jigsaws (hand made by a local) and also a bucket of building blocks (110 blocks) - and that was only $10 - brand new... so we were happy with that purchase... :)
Anyway, that's pretty much all I have to report... told you it was boring! :)

First Trials event for the year.....
Yesterday was our first trials event for the year... it was up at Bob's Creek which is about 20km south of Rockhampton.. so it was an early start for all - with having to get out of the house by 7am to load the bikes at Mom and Dad's place and then head off to Rocky....
The early start didnt' really agree with Greg too much who was still buggered from playing Rugby the day before - followed by a closing shift at KFC - so he only got home around 10:30pm... (but he came with chicken - so in his mind - that's a score!! <-- and Rob's mind!)...
Greg attempted to sleep on the way up to Rocky, but travelling with a 2yr old in the seat next to you, means that you don't really get much sleep.... "Hey Greg!! Wake up!!!"... she's an early riser... so having to leave the house by 7am wasn't a challenge for her!
We arrived at the trials site and the boys offloaded the bikes, Frank's 4RT is borked - so he borrowed my 315 and the boys rode their bikes....
Rob came 1st in C Grade... and Greg DNF'd... but he did complete about two and a half laps I believe.... and considering he's gone from pretty much a non-sporting life - to weekends just full of it now, it'll take a little getting used to.....
Rob Warming up... (one day I'll change the name plates on the bikes so that people don't think that Rob is riding my bike.... plus we have to get Greg a name plate too)

Greg's first Rep Game....
Funny to think that Greg's played his first Rep Team game before he's even had a first real game for his club team.
Today was the day, the game started a little later than planned due to the fact that they hadn't organised referees... but it didnt' seem to bother the kids at all...
Greg didn't go on the field at first and we weren't sure if he was just a backup or whether he's get to play (even he wasn't too sure when he first headed off for the day) - but he was on the field about halfway through the first half... and was taking down kids left right and centre... there weren't many kids that got past him... so I think they were happy that he was on their team..
We were talking to some of the other parents while sitting up in the stands and they couldn't believe that this was his first game ever... "No, you mean his first rep game right?" "no... first GAME - he'll have his first club game in a few weeks time"... but he really seems to know what he's doing.... (but they do muck around a heap at school)

Happy Wedding Anniversary - Mom & Dad
38 years ago today, Mom and Dad tied the knot.... you'd swear it was only last year the way they carry on ... ;)
But you have to love it, everyone who knows them knows that they'd be lucky to have even half the relationship that they have... to have seen everything they've seen and to accomplish the things they have....
Here's to the next 38!!!
Cutting the Cake

Rob had been up in Rocky for the afternoon working, so he turned up late, missed cake and went straight to Jade's play-doh! (but he's good, he shares with Jade if he has to!)

We got them a present cake! (and the candles were just an added bonus! - plus in a few weeks Rob and I can steal the 3 and put it on a cake of our own!)

Jade was ready willing and able to blow out the candles....

This is SO NOT FAIR!
One of the guys I who used to do FreePBX stuff with me has a little girl who's 1 year and 1 month younger than Jade -- and he just sent me a link to how well she goes to bed:
Aww MAN! With Jade, the bedtime procedures are:
Recently, the 'Jade crying' bit has been getting very short. About three Waah's and then she goes 'Oh yeah. Sleep time' and she's fine. However she CAN decide she doesn't want to go to bed and it's playtime, and then we have to fight with her. That's not fun.
I have been banned from putting jade down, unless she specifically asks for me. I can never get her down as easily as Tharyn.
I now feel guilty about not having any Vids of Jade youtubed. I shall resolve that this weekend when we're out on the motorbikes!

Aww MAN! With Jade, the bedtime procedures are:
- Bath
- Dinner (or occasionally the other way round)
- Messing around for 1/2 an hour or so
- Lying down on our bed watching one of her shows
- Bottle, whilst doing the above
- More watching her shows.
- Jade, bedtime!
- Jade: One more? Please?
- Tharyn: No, it's bedtime
- Take her to bed. Tharyn lies down and sings a few songs
- Tharyn gets up and leaves
- Jade then cries.
