Blockspot Holiday 2015 - Day 2

Saturday 27th June

First to happen for the Saturday was to explore the creek and try to find some yabbies.....   Zerky's kids grew tired of this fairly quickly, so we didn't find anything....   

Back at the shed, it was time to hit the bikes.....

We copped a little bit of rain so the kids decided that hiding under the hammock was the answer..... I'm not sure how successful this was.....

Krakka came up later in the day and was there in time for dinner.... Rob then put a movie on for the kids to watch.....  

Blake was soon out for the count......


It was then time to make Waffle-smores..... (waffle cones with marshmallows & chocolate melts)

We had no idea what to expect... but it was worth a try.....

Lily came in to perform a routine quality control check...

Yup, that's marshmallows & chocolate melts.... so far, so good!

Wrapped and ready to go over the fire.....

We made 7... because Blake was asleep... figured he wouldn't want one....

Blake didn't stay asleep for long....

Things are melting... this is a good sign....

Ready to serve......

Jade basically posed with hers and then handed it back... she doesn't eat milk chocolate.... (so, that solved the "only 7" issue)

All in all, a big success!  Though, very sweet!

I don't believe any of the kids actually ate theirs... maybe 1-2 mouthfulls - after that they were handed off....  Rob happily ate three of them....

Blockspot Holiday 2015 - Day 1

Friday 26th June

After school finished and we were all packed and ready to go we headed to Zerky's place to meet up with them so that they could follow us.... we also did a kid swap... I took the girls with me and the boys went with Zerky.....

We got to the block just after it had started getting dark - so had to set up in the dark and got the fire going straight away.....

Comfy around the fire.......

Tooth #6 is out!

Friday 26th June

Blake came out of school and showed another gap.... I think that's all for now!   He looks like a vampire now :)

Oh no... the power's out!

Thursday 25th June

So, a storm hit town and then the power was out...... luckily we had our generator at the house and not at the property.....  it had a dead battery, so Rob took the batteries from Blake's electric trials bike to jump start the generator.......  

and then we had power to cook!


(power came back on a bit later - so we were able to see what we were cooking with real lights and not with a desk lamp)

Packing packing......

Wednesday 24th June

I decided I should get the packing done for the holiday to the block... (holiday because it was more than just a 2 day trip).

Jade's clothes are the red and purple and Blake's in the black... it's true... even when they're young girls need a larger range of clothing.... 

(in all fairness - I'd packed her good clothes into the purple bag that she was to take to Bundy with her to Gran and Grandpa's for the week - and I didn't want her wearing her dresses/skirts/good shirts at the property and ruining them..... Blake wears t-shirt and shorts/jeans for everything.... and he has no "dress up" clothes... so his all went into one bag....)
