We did our usual "easy" birthday party for Jade - we just had a BBQ out at Tannum Sands and invited a couple of her friends from school as well as having family and Cat & her boys there....

Tropicarnage Cup - 2012 - Day 5

Tuesday 2nd October....

Ok, so this wasn't really still part of the Tropicarnage weekend... but Horrors, Graeme & Sarah Marshall came and stayed the night at Hotel Teddie as Sarah & Graeme had to wait for Horrors to be discharged from hospital before they could start their drive home to Townsville...

I stayed up to let them in, we stayed up a little bit talking... but then I booted them off to bed so that I could get some sleep as I had to go to work in the morning.....

Tropicarnage Cup - 2012 - Day 4

Monday 1st October.....

The day started with Maccas breakfast - we were supposed to meet up with Michael and Ingrid - but by the time they rocked up at Maccas we were nearly ready to leave... but we had a Merby bout to get to - so we didn't hang around.....  (Merby = Men's Derby - for those trying to keep up)

After leaving maccas - we got to the car - to find that we'd been left a notice... ;)

The Merby boys lined up for a safety check....  I was too busy watching the bout to take any pics... and derby pics on the phone never turn out well anyway......  Merby is AWESOME.... it was the best game I have ever watched.... 

We then hung around to watch Townsville bout Coastal Assassins before we were due to drive home...

Final score.....   if you look between the refs you can see that medics are busy working on HorrorBelle... she tried to insert her head up the butt of one of the CARD girls (sorry - that's the best way to describe it - and now you can all picture the accident)

You know what someone loves when they're in a neck brace and on a stretcher??  they LOVE to have their picture taken.....

I had remembered my TVR hoodie on this day.... but had to give it to Horrors who was getting really cold waiting for the ambulance...

After Trish got taken in the ambulance, we headed to the car with Shreds and KK and headed home.... the trip was .... definitely interesting...  something sure has to be said about road trips with derby people... but it was awesome... LOVE my road trips...

Smashdance managed to get a GRD Tank before the carnival was all over....

Tropicarnage Cup - 2012 - Day 3

Sunday 30th September

We headed off for breakfast with Michael & Ingrid at Sizzlers and then headed to the venue for another day of derby action.....

When I got there, it was freezing and I'd left my GRD hoodie back at the hotel room... so I had to buy another one... the only one they had was a XXL - so it was swimming on me.... making everything look a million times bigger... but, I was warm, and that's what mattered.....

At 7pm we came up against the Potluck team...  this was a team that was put together with players from 5 different leagues....  it was a bit of a rude shock and we spent a lot of time in the sin bin because we were having calls made on us that we'd never dealt with before...  but it was a fantastic bout...  we were beaten by 138 points.... but we made it over 100 points and we were awesome....   (I do love my team A LOT!)

After dinner, Rob and I went back to our hotel room and were asleep as early as possible.... but our bouting was over, which meant that the rest of the weekend was for enjoying derby and relaxing....
